Tbh I don’t even wear headphones in my own house, the one time I did my boyfriend walked back and forth behind me to see if I’d notice and I didn’t feel his presence at all. That’s scary

Yes I recall this awful case so clearly too. A couple of additional points of interest. 1. Court documents revealed Bayley ran out of petrol on the way home from burying Jill in Gisborne South. He waved down a passing motorist and asked him for a lift to a service station. The motorist said no, because he was running late for work. Bayley then started begging the motorist to take him. The motorist reluctantly agreed to take him to a service station to get fuel in a jerry can, and back to his car. Bayley asked whether he wanted any money. The man refused. "He then thanked me, and said it was good to see someone with old-fashioned values," the motorist said. He noticed the stranger "had grass all over the lower legs of his pants". Bayley told him he worked at a nearby horse stud farm. "It explained the grass on his pants," the motorist told police. But he was surprised that the stranger seemed to know little about the area. After seeing a picture of Bayley following his arrest, the motorist called police. 2. In the days that followed Ms Meagher’s death, the story was of course all over the news. Bayley's girlfriend mentioned it, and he cautioned her about walking alone at night, and even suggested that Jill's husband was responsible for her disappearance.

Such great additional points thank you! Yes I remember reading about him hitching a ride but I read that while editing this video 😅 Can’t believe the sicko tried to blame her husband! Imagine Baileys gf - how she felt knowing he was with her after committing that crime - it must be so overwhelming

Never be afraid to embarrass yourself! That’s my best advise to avoid becoming the subject of a true crime case… If your instincts tell you that you are in danger SCREAM & shout! DO NOT COMPLY!! As a teenager I watched an FBI detective on tv. He said NEVER willingly go to a 2nd crime scene! If someone threatens to shoot you, let them do it in public, rather than going willingly!

Okay… this murder creeped me out big time. I crossed paths with this man one day at about 6pm near the corner of Sydney rd and bell st in Coburg, a suburb in the area. It was a heavily trafficked area at 6 pm-ish one night as I was travelling to see my psychologist for ptsd symptoms from a long term tragic incident I had dealt with in my life. The clinicians premises was located 1 door from this major traffic intersection and was often packed with backed up traffic just past a local railway crossing, so I would often get caught in traffic for 10 minutes or longer at this exact spot before searching for a carpark in the dark backstreets surrounding the exact location. One evening whilst sitting in backed up after hours heavy traffic, a man crossed right in front of my car cutting between standstill traffic. I will never forget he was dressed in shorts n a muscle tank top and was heading from outside a gym located across the road to my clinicians office, so it appeared he had just left the gym. The one thing that caught my attention was that he not only made uncomfortably prolonged direct eye contact with me in my car as he weaved his way across 4 lanes of standstill traffic to get across the road, but I remember looking straight at his face as he stared at mine because he boar a very similar resemblance in face and hair and height and body build as an AFL Footballer (Australia’s National Football League) that I had recently dated for about six months not long before. The resemblance was so similar from a short distance of 2 metres that I truly thought it was him as he lived not far from the area and I was driving the same car as when we had dated. After keeping extended eye contact as he passed in front of my car, I couldn’t quite work out of it was actually my ex footballer boyfriend (who was very famous at the time), but there was something eerily creepy about his long dead pan stare at me in my car as he passed, and I was never sure if that was actually him or not. Only about a week after this happened in my car, the news of Jill meagher’s murder became headline news, and days later they released some photos in the media of the suspect they were looking for. Shock and chills went down my spine and almost paralysed me when I saw the EXACT face that was staring at me in the eyes for about 10-15 seconds that night he passed in front of my car as I sat in traffic. I recognised the face and the body and the build and hair instantly. THIS was the same man I was staring back at as he stared me down and even proceeded to look back at me after crossing the road. And yes, he still throughly resembled so much of my ex pro footballer bf even after seeing him in photos of him taken from his home where was staying only a couple of backstreets away from my exact location at this intersection I had encountered him. IT WAS THE EXACT SAME MAN…no doubt, no exceptions. This was that man. I week after my encounter with him, he had murdered Jill meagher in an alley way only metres from the very same intersection where he passed right in front of my car as I was in traffic. I had no idea he was a creeper at the time despite the long stare of our eye contact and the look back he gave me after crossing the road…I was just more curious to know if it was actually my ex or not at the time as he lived not far from that location. But when seeing the photos of Adrian Earnest Bailey, I knew instantly that was the man that had passed me with the prolonged stare. I was chilled to the bone. In the pictures released of him he had the same tattoo on his arm that I had seen and he still really resembled my ex footballer bf. I was mortified that only 1 week earlier I had seen this exact man, knowing now what he had done only 1 week later in a dark alley just metres from where I encountered him. It shook me to my core and I had nightmares on and off for about 12 months after this of running into him again. This case will stay with me forever because of this. I am grateful I was not yet parked in the backstreets and walking towards my clinicians office in that moment and after hearing of this murder, even though he was apprehended, I never again parked in the dark back streets at night for my appointments again. It didn’t help that he lived only several streets from this exact location only about 5 backstreets away. I would park in a highly lit takeaway restaurant that was a further walk, but along the main road with heavy traffic all the way to the office and back. This still chills me to the bone today. That stare is tattooed on my brain like it was yesterday.

Poor Jill :(. I think a good tip in situations like this is to enter the closest shop that is open and let the employees know about the situation. But regardless, the fact that criminals who are such a danger repeatedly are allowed to roam free. The justice system should serve innocent people, not criminals. Thanks for sharing the case Zara! Love your videos.
