I have watched wonderful western movies over and over again. To me good old fashioned westerns are like fine paintings. You can enjoy watching them over and over again.
Mary Murphy. The most stately, gorgeous woman of her time. I could not take my eyes off her. Her bearing was impressive, and her acting was impeccable.
Welshmen mined coal and slate back in the day. I know, I went on holiday to Wales and went down the coal and slate mines as a tourist. Good job Ray escaped those hell holes, though that western town was not much better with its murderers and yellow fever.🤠🥴
Thanks for uploading ‘A Man Alone’ from 1955. There was only 5 years difference in age between Ward and Ray. Ward Bond passed away only 5 years after this movie was released. All excellent lead actors and supporting cast in this finely crafted film. Ray Miland did a great job of directing the film.
This is the first time we watched this excellent western and we enjoyed every minute of the show. We definitely rate this western among the best Classic western ever made. Thanks for keeping this quality western alive for all to enjoy over & over again.
@@MarkFaux-fl8nk Ha-ha Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We enjoyed the show and will continue to enjoy this western every time watch this western despite your derogative comments. ha-ha Have a great day.
Real cowboy leaves behind what needs to leave behind, his pistol and knife is and brain is what he needs. He can always find another horse saddle, woman and rifle........I'm talking about my grandpa.....who survived Geronimo's renegades etc......and he was an honorable man!
Ok. Now I have seen, Rio Bravo over 75 times. Never gets old. This is a picture from Rio Bravo, Starring John Wayne. Then I press play, it is not Rio Bravo. It is this other Western. Which is a good one, Starring Ray Malland
Ray Miland played so many different roles, from big productions to the cheap grade "B" movies, and he was believable in all of them. I never really thought of him as a leading Western star, but I think that he did a great job in this one. And of course the great Ward Bond. It seems that he was born to be a great Western star.
_A Man Alone_ (as noted earlier by @brianedwards231). This is a 1955 American Western film directed by Ray Milland (credited as R. Milland) starring Ray Milland, Mary Murphy, Raymond Burr, and Ward Bond. (Wikipedia) According to IMDb, besides playing in 176 productions, Milland also directed a dozen movies and TV programs.
A very good western worth seeing, well directed, and well acted by all characters. A beautiful story, very good action, and a story worth telling again and again!
Stanley - Raymond Burr, Canadian, aka Perry Mason and acting sheriff Jim - Alan Hale Jr. aka the Skipper of Giligans Island were also of note. Nadine - Mary Murphy, who played alongside Brando in The Wild One. What a babe in this movie. How can a waist be that tiny? This western, A Man Alone, was pretty good. Worth the watch.
I always find it pretty stupid that when there canteens are empty they toss them just like in the beginning of this movie. When they do find water it would be nice to have the canteen to fill up for later.Have any of you ever noticed that in other movies and thought that was a foolish thing to do ?
@nielwilliams4687....It just doesn't make much sense, does it; you are in the desert and have no idea how far and long you will have to be walking, and you throw away your empty canteen. It only weighs maybe 6 or 8 ounces. That won't slow you down or put too much burden on you, and it will be worn around your neck; you won't be carrying it by hand. And when...if...you find water, what will you then use to carry some water with you...??? I cannot count how many movies that I have watched where the empty canteens are thrown away. I suppose that this was done to make some kind of cinematic statement, but it sure is dumb..!!
@@nielwilliams4687 ....Yep, and how about the Westerns when someone shoots over a dozen times with a revolver without ever reloading...and rifles that have no recoil. I sure would like to get one of those revolvers and the 30-30 rifle that doesn't kick...!! Oh, another desert dumb thing: not wearing a hat...that one really gets me mad...lol..!!
A Man Alone is a 1955 American Western film directed by Ray Milland (credited as R. Milland) starring Ray Milland, Mary Murphy, Raymond Burr, and Ward Bond. The story involves a man (Milland) who stumbles onto the aftermath of a stagecoach robbery in the Arizona desert in which there were no survivors.
I had a blue dress like the one Nadine wore and it was my favorite dress. I’m 79 years old now and that was long long ago. I don’t think that it would fit me now. 🥺🥺🥺😂😂😂👵🏻👵🏻👵🏻
Why? The picture is a photo from the movie " RIO BRAVO" In the movie played : John Wayne, Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson !!! So in the future please give the good info !!! L.M.
