Ive been listening to this on spotify, The Exorcist Files has been helping me come back to the church and the emphasis on closing all doors by growing in virtue has been helping me a lot! Hope you continue doing this Fr Martin!

I’ve enjoyed all episodes of The Exorcist Files up to this one. This one doesn’t seem quite right, although I am willing to believe I could be wrong. Could the drama described here be deception to give a lay person a false sense of security? Or is it true that someone can cast out a demon in someone else, I’m assuming as long as that person gave permission? I thought one must be careful to abide by a hierarchy of authority and not overstep. I’m assuming Father Carlos gave his blessing for this episode, so I am willing to believe the work described here is licit.

I thought this episode was disappointing, confusing and problematic. I hope father martins can address some of the issues listeners had with it, such as the role of lay people and the concept of authority. Personally, I believe this affected the credibility of the content. But maybe, I interpreted the guest incorrectly. Again, I would love to hear Father Martin’s (or any other exorcists) take on this episode.

I find it very confusing (and spiritually dangerous) to hear a non-Catholic lay person talk about casting out demons, not withstanding his psychological expertise. The terms “exorcism” and “deliverance” are getting conflated. No lay person should be exorcising. His story about the woman who growled at him required a Catholic exorcist, not a lay person.

UFOs and Shape Shifters- could Father please address these in the future?

I think it’s dangerous to tread on the path of believing all baptized Christians are able to perform deliverance prayers or exorcism. That’s not right. Because regardless of what non-Catholic might think, there’s hierarchy structure in the Catholic Church with regards to exorcism. The Church is clear that only the Bishops and the priest appointed/designated by the Bishop are granted the authority to perform the Rite of Exorcism. It’s a liturgical rite.

Just a question on this. Do you think you can take your scientific approach and apply it to your ministry? Perhaps collect data on the brain before/during/after an exorcism? It would be interesting to see if systematic mental issues are being undiscovered and/or how spirits cause their possession. It would also be useful to determine if a brain scan can diagnose such issues.

Only about 1/3 through this, but from his description of the brain function it does not appear his subscribes to consciousness occurring outside of the brain. This is evident with Near Death Experiences and Terminal Lucidity. I would suggest viewers view the presentations by Fr Robert Spitzer, Dr Pim von Lommel, Dr Bruce Greyson and Dr Sam Parnia on NDEs and Terminal Lucidity that are available on RU-vid.

My late sister and brother in law had demonic infestation in their house probably due to her use of a ouija board. Ed and Lorraine Warren even confirmed the demonic presence. A formal house exorcism was done with permission of Archbishop Bevalaqua back in 1995. She reported that things had dramatically died down after that exorcism. I went to visit them about 7 years after the exorcism. They were still stressed. We all sat around the kitchen table and talked about their stresses. I silently decided to pray for them; so I excused myself from the table, saying I was going to lay down on the couch for a nap. No one knew my plan to pray for them but me. Laying on the couch, I silently and mentally started to pray the Our Father. I got to "hallowed be Thy Name", and suddenly a large wall picture hanging on the wall flew off the wall and crash landed in the opposite corner of the room. The sound was deafening loud! Both my sister and brother in law came running into the parlor thinking I fell down the stairs. To me, this was proof that she still had demons in her house.

We have thousands years of study, It is accepting the study which may be the difficult task.

It was my understanding that ONLY the exorcist, who received permission from the Bishop, was considered lawful by the demons, and therefore they have to listen by the law? How is this neuroscientist able to do these deliverances in that context?

I wouldn’t even try to cast out a demon unless it was an emergency. And I’d pray that I was in a state of grace otherwise I’d be beaten and running naked. A lay person should NOT be messing with the demonic!!! They are Real and they will hurt you. Go to your priest. Please! God bless.

Exorcism and deliverance are NOT the same thing.. Maybe principle of getting rid of a ride range of things like generational sins, generational curses, & generational spirits, etc etc. I’ve been doing both for multiple years now.. It’s different. It truly is.. It’s a whole different way of doing things. Only exorcists can exorcise people. Only certain people can do deliverance. YOU have the power to exorcise yourself. The deliverance bit, you can’t do alone. It’s like impossible .. 😆 Maybe due to “where twos and threes are gathered.” Idk If you’re not properly trained to do any of this, all you do is open yourself up to a can of worms & that’s real talk. I fasted 9 days with nothing but the Eucharist and sips of water. Hot chocolate helped with the cravings. Sometimes you have to fast like this because how deeply rooted the damned are in you. A lot of times, evil ones attack me, right before they are taken. I seen saints and things the Church says. I can actually testify with my life, how everything the Catholic Church is a fact.

@27:40 If there is genetic or epi-genetic damage can God heal that too or must that damage express itself in both the person that has it and generations it is passed on to? At the core of the human body's power to heal and prosper in any manner if you do not have the genetic strength left to heal then is there still hope that God will come and put back together the damage that may be caused by radiation or by methylation or free radicals etc in order that the person in question may live a normal life to the glory of God? For example when they were creating the first atomic bomb they needed to do an experiment in allowing two cylinders of fissionable material together in order to see how many neutrons would result from a critical event. A critical event does not create a thermonuclear explosion but it is sort of a mini nuclear reaction that releases all sorts of DNA damaging radiation to a limited un-shielded area. Unfortunately one of the scientists was not behind the lead shielding when the two cylinders came together and that poor man died a horrible death from radiation sickness. Is God able to repair damage like this to our DNA that may have happened over years? Joel 2:25

I am concerned about laypersons exercising a priestly ministry. I hope things are as this kind man says, but it is by the authority of Jesus and His Church, the Catholic Church, that any success is achieved.

After the driving out of a demon, doesn’t the demon have to give a sign that it has left? No offense to this man speaking, but how does this man know that the demon was truly cast out and didn’t just hide. I know that God can use anyone for anything; however, the Catholic Church gives all the means of Sanctifying Grace and to remain in the state of Sanctifying Grace. I hope there is a follow up presentation to this video.

The Major Rite of Exorcism is not to “cast demons out”. It is to regain whatever right the Devil has gained in that person, and to regain their state of grace. So no, “deliverance ministry” isn’t “basically the same thing”.
