welcome to a new cozy art vlog my friends 💖 I started filming this one a few weeks ago when I realized I was just a few of spreads away from finishing a sketchbook that I’d started a long time ago. lately I’ve been approaching my sketchbook with some newly formed philosophies and I think it’s been super helpful in not only developing my art skills but also improving my relationship with my art-I’ll tell you all about it in the voiceovers!

Hope you had a great birthday! Really lovely video, and a great accompaniment to my sketching session today! I used to be way too precious with my sketchbooks but recently discovered the joy of not giving a fluff and just creating whatever I want whenever I want too, it's been so amazing!

Happy late birthday!! I too have a hard time choosing an inspiration from Pinterest because there are so many to choose from and it gets overwhelming! I haven't used a sketchbook in years but ive been wanting to give it another go.

Hey Karie, it was super nice and relaxing seeing you draw and experiment in your sketchbook. I don't have an art business, but I love drawing and am currently working on a personal project - it's a story of me and my 3 sisters growing up on a farm...but I'm drawing each of us as animals. I totally understand the feeling of wanting to use each sketchbook page and create perfect complete sketches...I've recently forced myself just to draw simple thumnail sketches...and resisted the urge to make them pretty and finished sketchs😅. I mostly find inspiration to draw on Pinterest (but I totally get the scrolling rabbit hole...it happens to me too!) I also love taking screenshots of photos or images I see online...and then sometimes I take photos of something that inspires me. Loved the owls you drew! Hope you're keeping well!

I feel like at this point literally every single artist has those caran d'ache neocolor crayons except me, I desperately want them but they're pretty expensive considering I don't know if I like crayons haha 😂

😂😂 yeah I definitely was experiencing that until I got them lol!! they had them available to buy as singles and I considered just buying a couple to try but I was pretty confident that I would love them so I went for the whole set!!

First, I hope you had a happy bday!!!🎉🎉🎉Looks like you got some nice art treats, for sure😍I’ve been eyeing the Caran D’Ache pastels for a while because @melissamartinart always makes them look so good! I haven’t bitten the bullet yet- looking at less expensive dupes to see if I actually will like them or find it all too messy😅but great idea to use the cash back rewards, smart!🧐👌 So glad you got your package and enjoyed your end of the trade! And like I said in the note, I have a ton of the misprint totes around and I’m looking to pass them along to friends, so it was the perfect opportunity to share another bag I just can’t sell at full price❤Trust me! USPS is being a slow poke this summer, but I’ll definitely let you know when yours shows up😄
