This is amazing. I just finished watching the newest short film on his website (and Vimeo) and decided to see if there was any other stuff that I missed on him. This got past me somehow, but nonetheless is fantastic. Love this guy. Love what he had to say about skateboarding. I used all the time when I was little and slowly fell out of it. Recently have been looking to get a board and pick up the hobby again. Gotta wait till it gets warmer out though.
Being a songwriter myself, finding myself with production and watching this, hearing his music is amazing. The chord changes on Anything in Return to the synths on What For? His music has so many feels. It's inspiring. Hopefully I get to work with him one day.
+The Creator Class can you please give us a soundtrack list of the songs on the video. I searched all of alex's music and cant find a thing. Please help. Thanks.
What I enjoy about his philosophies most and his honesty, is that it basically guarantees he's always going to make awesome music. His motivations are pure and because of that it is something that will always last. For some reason Ive always sensed that in his music, ever since i first picked up on him just over a year ago. It comes together more now. This was a great vid that really reflected him well. Good job.
Man. 9 Years later... I used to be part of The Creator Class back when I was in high school and I still to this day want to know what the groovy song @9:00 is.... I still remember those days like it was yesterday. I was going through really tough time as a kid and this video brought me to life. From a kid, to a grown man. I STILL come back to this video. From the Email I got from the creator class as a kid, to them dropping a video with an artist I admire . I felt like I was at the top of the world. unfortunately The Creator Class is not the same as when i was a teen, But man do I still come back to this video once a year to bring those memories and passion for the arts back. Thank You TCC
This has got to be one of the coolest videos I've seen in a while, very inspiring. I'm curious, how did you all grade/color your footage to look like that? I almost thought it was shot on film until I read the description. Very beautiful :)
What was the color grading process like for this video? The whole time I was watching it I thought it was shot with either 16mm or 35mm. Then I was astonished when I found out that it was filmed in digital. I assume that it involves around VisionColor LUTs? Or was it done completely manually? I really enjoyed the video, sensational music, filming, editing and especially the color! Toro y Moi is the man!
I keep coming back to this video. Chaz comes across as such an honest and nice guy. So inspirational!! Well done to all at The Creator Class p.s love the instrumentals on this video.
i've watched this mini-documentary about 15 times and im not lying on this. This is so beautiful i can't stop imagine that moment when i was in the front row of his show. This is an artist that i will never forget because i see me in him. He's inspiring.
He just inspired me to be make people relate more to my music and to be me, when I make tracks. I'm excited to progress moving forward. Thank you for posting this.
He doesn't let his title of musician compartmentalize his creativity to a box of audio based art. He's an artist. Graphic design/Musician. Why be solely defined by one title? It's fucking awesome that Chaz isn't just a one dimensional person. So much talent.
Really digging the music heard at 9:00. Apparently the music is by Alex Doucette but the music on his soundcloud sounds very different. Can anyone enlighten me?
