@@randyclifford7350 Basically it's a comedy film and there's an English king (I think) outside a church, talking to a Frenchman who's in the church. The frenchman insults him, and IIRC, ultimately the frenchman starts throwing stuff at the king and the people who are with him, so they all (the king and the people with him) start running down the hill that the church is on top of. I don't know any more than that though. That's the rough gist of it anyway
@@randyclifford7350A classic, british comedy movie from 1975 which is renowned for its silly jokes and low budget effects. It had the same cast as the tv-series it was based on (Monty Pythons Flying Circus)
I think a couple downed trees would make the Forrest look a little more natural and add some unique areas to the woods similar to the effect the castle ruins gave the woods but love the start of the castle area
Yep yep, never seen a Lego layout so detailled, just a the must perfect one, just Amazing... a beauty, a must!! Thank you and your brother to let us dreaming ❤
You could add an old "secret passage" somewhere that is collapsed in the hills of the castle. There is a train going under it so you could use it as a story telling part with going that the Tunnel for the train used the basis of the secret passages to get through the hill. Just an idea.
To made the tram more realistic, I would suggest seeing if the tram encoding can allow more gradual acceleration/deceleration between stops. So it won't stop on a dime/blast off at full speed. Other than that, this has been going great so far.
WOW! The automation that goes into everything is amazing! It would be so cool to see a summer retreat style place in the woods with possibly camping tents, and other sustainable things like insect homes.
Could be nice to have multicolored lights in the the castle tower, since that’d make it look like the castle was still inhabited, or even add an eerie blue or green glow if you wanted to create the idea that the castle is haunted. Bonus points if you can hide one of those old glow innthe dark lego ghosts somewhere where it’s only visible while the haunting is active.
I think a combination of the two lighting effects would be a great idea because in real life there are tour companies that take tours of castles in the day and some do night time Ghost tours of the ones which are hunted by the former residents who still roam the buildings and grounds in the afterlife.
I like the idea of the ruins, it is a nice touch seeing animals bring the forest to life. I think some moss on the old stone ruins would be nice, you might have done this already. The tram being automated looks like such a difficult job but glad that you are managing to do it and bring the city to life. The lighting and the automation is incredible, it would be cool seeing the tram or trains have lights on when they are moving but I am not sure if this is possible, it would be amazing to see a passenger train with lights on moving at night, or even a plane with lights being taxied on the runway. Incredible so far!!
I wonder if, when the castle is finished, you could add a little RV park, campsite, and/or playground somewhere. It might make the city seem more lively and add some more character or storytelling opportunities.
By far my favorite building video for the series. There's endless ideas for the castle interior like blacksmiths, farms, armories, weapons training grounds, bakeries, etc..
I think it would be nice if the brown spots you added on the towers were spread out more naturally, also covering the corners of the octagon. Right now the brown parts are a bit linear on each side of the octagons, contained by the corners.
The castle really sets the scene on the hill and I’m looking forward to seeing it finished. Being innovative also with the tram/trains system is very forward thinking - one of the many reasons which sets your city apart from the rest! Amazing update, worth the wait!
Hey Brickscraft, I love the castle and the theme it sets on the whole town but I was wondering if you could add like a tour guide of the castle like a bus going up a hill and dropping kids off at the castle? Hopefully you see this, Great work keep it up :D
I've been slowly building a WWII-era British airbase. Your town has been an inspiration and a source of ideas. My little airbase and accompanying town now needs a castle!
The automation is great, as is the castle. I think it'd be great to add a visitor centre and some information boards around the castle. The old town needs to make some money and it's a great tourist attraction! :)
With the trains I will suggest experimenting with adding some weights to the trains. Right now they look too light and they bounce around a bit when they are running. Adding some weight could make them much more smooth and satisfying to look at.
I'd love to see, amidst the pine forests, perhaps closer to the front for more detail, a high ropes course. I love the vibes of a wilderness park with a zip line or two between the trees. It'd add life to a patch of forest and provide story telling. If you wanted it to be a bigger part of the map, it could accompany a campsite too
The planning and work that you put into your city is incredible. I love the tower technique and might give it a try for a lighthouse I'm building. Thanks as ever for your wonderful videos!
You could add things like dirt paths or patches of different colored grass, stone and other textures to add realism, you can add things like fallen or dead trees, berry bushes, i mean there is loads you could change or add to the forest area.
I've been keeping up with this for a while now, but this update is just plain impressive. The sheer thought that you put in to planning each area and every brick and then THE RAILWAY SYSTEM!! Just insane. Extremely impressive. I will be traveling across the world to see this in person when it is done. I can't wait for more, keep up the good work!!!
I'm really loving this, the vegetation is wonderful. I feel it needs more vegetation between the trees, and perhaps more birds and flowers, maybe mushrooms?
Wow, the tram system is crazy. I have no idea what you just explained. lol! LOVE the castle technique used to build it. Also nice little technique with the owl. It is the little details like this that I love. Thanks for showing it to us.
The start of that castle looks great, i like how you did the trees as well, and the story telling with the owl and its prey is great, keep up the great work brickcrafts and i cant wait to see more, KEEP ON BUILDING🎉
I think adding more storytelling to the forest with a “old time spirit” essence such as looters hiding in an abbandoned cottage, deer hunters with rifles etc. and more updates such as lumber mill, civils looking for mushrooms, orange and brown colored trees and landscape and few trees burnt to the ground would be great. Keep it up, wonderful content!
I know it would hinder the realism, but I would love to see Aragorn fighting some Uruk hai at the ruined watchtower. Made me think of the that passage instantly.
For the tower with the 2x2 cheese slopes you could use some dark tan ones mixed in with the grey like you did for the brick pattern. Love how this is turning out
i am so excited for this castle!!! im so glad youre starting on it now, it feels like a meaningful step on the long journey of this city. the forced perspective is so cool!
WHAT!!! The building technique you used here for the castle with the hinges and filling in the gaps with the 1x2 slopes is actually beautiful. The way it is turning out looks amazing. I can’t wait to see more. And the RUINS!! 🤯😍🤯 I wasn’t ready for this city to get this much cooler this fast 😝
Amazing update as per usual. A suggestion I had in mind as far as the castle goes is that you could add a little shop/office by the road that can act as a little museum, can castle merchandise items, and even schedules tours. I feel like this will make a great storyline
one of the best videos i’ve seen on your channel, and i’ve watched everything. your attention to detail is second to none. your dedication to the craft and humility in your talent makes it all the more fascinating.
The castle looks great so far! I think raising the left tower so the tops of the 2 towers are more level with each other would help make it more realistic though. Great job as always, keep up the good work!
Oh my gosh, this is absolutely amazing! Every video I'm just blown away by the creativity and dedication of you, your brother, and everyone involved. I really hope one day I can come visit the museum when it's ready. I live in the US so it'll be great to get out of the country and see some of the rest of the world!
Castle design and execution is looking great so far! You have many very large tasks now, including your brother. Maybe take a break and do something easy and fun like the skate park under the bridge :) I'm looking forward to that, and it makes so much sense realistically! - Great job!
Thinking ecologically, some ways to add more forest storytelling could be to add vegetation such as ferns, leaves, flowers, and smaller deciduous trees to create an understory. I love the wildlife so far, and you can always add more - a bear or wolf, wild boar, ibex or moose to make the woods feel truly alive. Some hikers, bird watchers, campers or hunters can also add great storytelling. Love what you’ve done so far!
The towers of the castle look amazing! I can't wait to see the end result. The trees are blocking the entrance to the castle. I'd like to see inside. Maybe replace them with short bushes?
I just wanna say I appreciate the hard work you guys put into this. Ive been watching this channel since you guys were in your previous location and just the amount of growth and story building has been next level. GG boys
Firstly, that castle is looking fantastic! The octagonal design works beautifully. And then all the technical work with the rail systems too, you're not far off how real trains are managed. 😆 You're a bit far away from me, but hopefully I'll be able to visit the museum one day.
I’ve been watching you for a while and I’m pretty convinced you are the best Lego diorama builder in the world (no joke) your build tricks are amazing and everything just looks so clean and beautiful. Please continue the legendary work 🥳🥳
Great job on the castle, the towers looks amazing. There needs to be some doors in the towers leading onto the wall. Normally the walls would only have battlements on the outside, and then a wooden fence on the inside - it would also add some more visual contrast to the battlements.
This towers are very cool! What could be nice is for the castle (or a church) to be used at night for a sound and lightshow projected on the entrance! ;) As a side note, don't forget they would need a well in this castle to be realistic!
Looks amazing love how you use these techniques to incorporate more realistic looking designes. It would be very space consuming, but I would love to see another castle and have they be in a long time war for more storytelling
As others have suggested, maybe put in some campsites among the trees. I'd also suggest a hiking trail (possibly from the campground), with hikers on it getting better views of the castle and so on.
