Jeff I’m not the one receiving these wonderful gifts but I swear I can feel the emotions this fantastic group of people who follow your channel. Jeff there are allot of people all over the world who really really care about you and your family. 99% of these people will never meet you ( me included) but we are indirectly part of your life. Thank you again for sharing your life. Carlo in Italia
The old unregistered farm truck you overtake at 1515 are something we still come across outback here in Queensland Australia, though getting thin on the ground. He is very smart keeping it to 35 mph, in those old Looselybuilts any faster and hit a bump, the front end would jump six foot, one way or the other. Left or right, no way of guessing, turn drivers into nervous wrecks. Got my trailer license in 1979 in a Louisville,903 and 13 speed bushranger. Most uncomfortable bucket of puss to drive.
Hi Jeff, great video, been a subscriber for a couple of years now. Drove Cat D6s for land clearing in the late 60s in South East South Australia. Then in the 70s, worked for a logging contractor in the Tasmanian Highlands puttting in log access roads. The contracor had a D7 for loading logs and carving out the roads. For me he had a D4 dozer levelling the gravel, a 933 loader with a wonky pilot that required using the winch on Skidder to tow start it each day and an early Cat12 grader for tidying up. I was paid by the hour for my tip truck ($6.00 per hour). Most of my hours were spent driving his equipment. Spent a few years driving semitrailers on local deliveries in Melbourne, Victoria. These days drive a powered wheelchair, since I lost a leg 10 years ago. Look forward to your videos. Cheers, Mike Austin, Adelaide, South Australia
I Almost Fell Out Of My Chair When You Were On The Lawn Mower In The Shop !!! Almost As Funny As Being In The Blue Room , Some Time Back . As Usual Big Thumbs Up !!!
You can tell when Jeff is in a good mood, and it's fun. Loved ID when I got to travel there. Such a beautiful state and while Jeff lives in a great place I really liked the Western side of the state a lot, as well. He's right there are a lot of good people there.
Hey thanks for the shout out Jeff! 😊 Think I need to head up north to Idaho, looks a whole lot cooler there, this 110 plus degree temperature is getting to be a real drag ! Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
Hey Jeff coolant on drive belts will make one chirp and make all kinds of noises. Been a Lincoln Mercury tech for 25 years. When customer wouldn't buy a new belt several of us techs found if you take a handful of floor dry and a transmission funnel and with the engine running put the funnel at a pulley that the belt feeds into you drop oil dry through the funnel and let in get pulled into the belt and pulley the noise goes away really fast. The oil dry soaks up the oily residue from the coolant and the grittiness makes the belt grab the pulley much better. Never had any customers come back with a belt chirp or noise. Love your videos. Always looking for new one. Your a great day helping out you son. I do all my son's the same way.
Enjoyed the ride through rural Idaho courtesy of the big green KW. One thing I did notice is that in Idaho gasoline is practically free. $3.00 a gallon is cheap compared to the $1.27 a litre I paid on the way home this afternoon.
Your jam nut is spinning actuator shaft ( I hate when my jam nut spins on my shaft...Har, Har) Still shakin in the desert of Californication. Definitely one of your funniest videos especially the elevator music rest stop.
While it is just another day in the saddle for you I remember how much I used to enjoy hauling a piece of equipment on a good flat open stretch of road. Just open her up and go. Sure have some beautiful country where you are. I bought some BKT tires for my tractors and so far no problems. I think they are good tires. Enjoyed the country ride...........
i am sure others have pointed it out but wanted to let you know the jamb nut for the clevis on the SwitchBlade was loose. Another good episode! thanks Jeff!
Just rented one for a month pushing clay material great cat like your channel, appreciate the technical information. We have all cat equipment for our pit. Expensive but great yellow paint.
I set all those multi colored siding panels on that CAT building, :20, plus a bunch of other work, with my 30 ton National boom truck. It was great work as my crane yard is right down the street about a mile. Maybe you mention it, but that big old hangar was built for the never built, or at least flown, atomic powered airplane they were working on out at the the Site, your tax dollars at work! Good to see the stop in Blackfoot, guess I'm not the only one that needs to get extra coffeed up before driving across the desert. Been craning in Mackay area 6 times this year.
I was laughing when you said Idaho was full, but my laugh went away when you said go to Oregon, because I live there and my dad is always bitchen about the Californias and keeps saying were full go to Washington😂
Hi Jeff, that is nice Care Package Curtis sent you, the wonder at the shipping cost evaporated immediately upon seeing that box of rod! If you haven't got a Rod Oven, find a smaller old refrigerator & wire a flood light fixture in the bottom. A 100W Flood Light will keep your rod dry & plenty hot- outside, 150Watt.
with what Jeff said in a previous episode that lava rock just tears up a machine I'm wondering how long the cutting edges are lasting and oh my God the dust is got2b just killing those engines
😎😉😊😊 AWESOME PEAK INTO YOUR WORLD AGAIN !!!👍🤙 That country out there is really "out of this world" in places. Them "Craters of the MOON" and all that lava,,,, CRAZY STUFF !!! I remember traveling through there in the 50's and dad talking about all that strange goings-on in (ARCO) country.... I never heard about those engines AND A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER "SECRET STUFF" you are telling about. We lived in Klamath Falls Oregon then, dad was a trucker out there after the war. AGAIN "AWESOME VIDEO" GOD BLESS .🥃🥃 😍😍😍😍😍
Put some BKT tires on our old 79J yard loader 3 yrs ago, they are looking pretty sun-checked already. Seemed like a good deal at the time, but I'm not very optimistic on their long term life expectancy now.
Jeff it looked like the lock nut on that turbo actuator arm was loose on the pivot, but it may not it just looked like it worth checking (scraper no 1 )
Crazy small world..I just happened upon your channel..I went k through grade 3 in Carey still have a pseudo uncle that lives there and my dad lives in twin falls area and is a foreman at Idaho sand and gravel..keep up the good work
Enjoy your D8T - run it like a rented mule, but go easy on the tyres (in Indian/UK parlance). Good video. Glad to see nothing broken this week, just 9 grand in new rubber (ouch) PS - the rod nut (jamnut) on your switchblade turbo is loose - you can see it moving in the video - better see to it before the rod end walks out of adjustment (or off).
I used to haul radio active waste into the Hanferd,WA site thru your area for T.S.M.T.Those Nuclear Engine pics are cool, I was aware they made them but no idea what they looked like.Thanks.....Jack
Wow I have not seen a Sinclair gas station in 40 years! They disappeared here in the Northeast US years ago. Tillman 750 gloves are my favorites! Lifting lugs are way cool!
How do you take off so fast from those Red traffic lights 🚦 just sitting in Barstow Cali getting my shine on be running up I-15 no back roads this trip 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As the finance man you don't get to run the equipment. :-) My experience with India tires was they dry rot cracked something terrible and were junk in less than 10 years. Hopefully you will use those scrapers enough they are worn out before that time elapses!
Jeff, I think the best way to keep the Cali-fornians out is to remind them that most of Idaho is conservative, & agree with the current administration.
I delivered to that aircraft hanger with no runway once...never so happy to get out of there. That was my directions too, go west of Mud Lake til you see a huge hanger with no runway.
Dont grind it Jeff, there should be another toungue available for that bead breaker. On some bead seat bands that lip that the toungue bites on had 1 or 2 raised if you like sections that stuck out further so you could fit the style bead breaker you have in and start pulling the bead back, by the time you have it pulled some and some nuts wedged in to hold it you could fit the breaker with the fatter tongue in every where and you just keep going till it breaks free.
We run loads of bkt tyres on the farm They make the odd size flotation tyres to replace trellenborg Better quality than trellenborg as well Use them on our scraper as well
Good morning Jeff, thank you for another video, it's always a pleasure to watch and very amusing!!! You've got some very loyal subscribers and your sense of humour well what can one say!! How much do the tape measures retail at ????? Take care my friend and catch you next, 👍😎🇬🇧.
Hard to believe they put 7 1/2 mph speed limit sign up. If it was a Volvo dealership or something Euro you might think they have a world wide standard and it is a conversion from Kph but it is a cat dealer in America. Strange indeed. Oh and i just realised my name is on the whiteboard so extra special edition.
Kinda thought you were renting it.I know one thing if did buy that D8T the old Kenny budget would go out the window. There's a 2018 on the Machinery Trader site for $750,000 at over $13,000 a month payment.Your not that crazy Jeff just a little nuts now and then thats what keeps your videos interesting. Look for an older 9 like you have and stick with your older stuff its way cooler to watch.Nice country great video.
