Ugh, that feeling you get when you know a book is awesome, but it's the only one the author has written, so you're reluctant to read it too fast because you'll immediately turn into an author stalker..."When are you going to write another book, C.J. Tudor? Why aren't you writing right now?!"
Just finished it, The Chalk Man happens to be my first mystery novel where I "ass" of "u" and "me" correctly who the murderer was and the mystery of the chalk figures.
Taking of AT IS Hiding Place...I hope you have realised that and didnt buy both?! Or if you haven't yet, dont...Hiding Place is none UK title...that's it!
I just read this in January & I felt the same way! I’ve never read It but I was sucked in from the beginning and the ending blew my mind! Definitely a 5 star! 🙌🏻
I am ordering this next week, thanks to your insight and review. Btw, I don't find that many Stephen King content on your channel. Are you planning to do some of those? I discovered your channel yesterday or the day one before, and I've been binge-watching your videos! A new favorite booktuber!!!
I can TELL how genuine you are about this! Oh my goodness, I need to pick this up. And the second guessing is exactly why I have SO much trouble DNFing books. I always hold out hope that the ending is going to prove the mediocre beginning wrong.
Yes! Well at least if it's so so there's a reason to keep going. I have no problem when I'm rolling my eyes at the characters and plot. But I hear ya! This was so much fun to read, Katie!
This sounds amazing! It seems like my Twitter feed has been raving about this book forever and that always makes me a bit skeptical but it's cool to hear you think it lives up to the hype. I'm going to be having a thriller month soon I think so maybe I'll add it. Hmmmmm...! Lucy
I've been looking at this for a couple of weeks now. Think I will pick it up on my next outing. I spy that you have a copy of Laura Purcell's The Silent Companions, and if you haven't already, that is a must read. I've just finished it and I loved it. So so good.
You're so wrong though. The ending was unpredictable shock value. Dumb, unrelatable characters. Patchwork plot. Stepehen King rip off. This book sucks balls.
