Thank you, Tim. I have ordered the blue Leathertex but not from Lockman, as they don't ship to UK. I think I would have preferred it if they had kept the references parallel to the biblical verses. Also, after the LSB ICR, I am beginning to wonder why anyone is putting references in the outside column...surely, it's more practical and reader-friendly to put references on the inside, where the text is more likely to fall into the gutter?
Great looking Bibles. Even the Leathertex looks good. It would be hard to choose between this, the Large Print Ultrathin Reference, and the Wide Margin Reference...
Way back in the early 80s my very first NASB was a padded hard cover SCR. It was a gift from my church, and it's on my shelf even as I speak. 🙂 I see that these editions omit the vertical line between the text and the references. Maybe I could get used to that, but I prefer to have the line to visually remind me which is which.
Love those premium NASB Bibles. I am a fan of the reference Bibles. The verse by verse cannot be beat. As a preacher it makes it quick and easy to find your text. Thanks Tim.
I’d love to be a member but can’t. I’m really loving all the chances to be blessed with a Bible though. Wide margin reference sounds great too. All are beautiful except that one day with that wild orange and green. 😂. Loving everyday.
Thanks Tim! I love that they have a chocolate brown which I think some of the publishes have moved away from recently trying to put out all different coloured options. But I love that classic chocolate brown so this is definitely a beautiful Bible regardless of the cover - thank you for putting them all side by side I’m gonna go back and have a look and see your video to compare it to the original Judge.
I bought a side colum reference NASB from my college bookstore in the early 70's. It is a hard cover that has a slightly padded red covering over that. Over the years the pages started falling out. I love this translation and this format. That side colum makes it so nice for adding notes.
That compact bible is kind of obscure to find info on. But I had to but it, and now it's the bible I keep at work. It is the smallest bible I've ever found that is still readable. Basically, it's a pitt minion without references, making it smaller.
Brother Tim! I don't need to go on and on about my history with and love for the NASB. Suffice it to say that I fell in love with the NASB when I was a freshman at Bob Jones Univ. in 1972. And, the older is better, to me. Yet, my ears perk up and eyes brighten when you open/review any NASB. Now, I wouldn't refuse either of the four on this video. Of course, 1995 appeals to the theologian in me. But, I don't possess either a 1995 or a 2020. The format reminds me of the NASBs which I purchased in 73 and 74. I love the format! And, that blue one is perfectly beautiful! May our Lord enable you to keep up the best work, my friend!
Great video, I have been looking for any NASB 95 text or NKJV. I have been reading the Spanish Translation NBLA, which is very new and easier to read for the Latin American Spanish speakers. I would even say that it’s the Equivalent of the English NASB
Bought my first NASB 2020 last week. Waiting for it to arrive. I got the LPUT. I love reading the translation in the Bible app. Can’t wait to read the print version.

Actually, "The Judge" is precisely one single copy of the 2002 Lockman side column reference. It was a rebind owned by John Blum performed by a bindery called Praxis. It was very expensive and used materials that almost no one uses even today because of the cost. It was the rebind by which all other rebinds are judged. Since 2012, when The Judge arrived, for some reason people started to call that entire Bible model "The Judge" rather than the singular Bible that truly earned the name.
Oh man, I'm a Nasb 95 guy, and the new SCR is beautiful, but that WM is everything 🤤🤤 once the Lord blesses me, I need to get it. Thanks for the review, brother.
Great review as usual! I love the premium look with the goatskin and red under gold page gliding! I'm wishing and hope that the formats in the 2020 will be available in the NASB 1995 and LSB. Lockman has improved their typefaces with their Bibles, a slam dunk!

Love the layout and the size. The goatskin editions are beautiful and would probably be my choice, but I like the blind stamping on the leather like version. They all look really nice!
I have never cared for the Side Column Reference all that much. For single column I prefer reference to be on the inside. The ESV Single Column Reference (now out of print) did this the best.
That chocolate brown New American standard Bible is beautiful, I've never had a New American standard, I've never even read one, nice, blessings to the Smith family, God bless.
These new editions are nice, but I’ve yet to find one that surpasses my 1999 NASB Side Column Reference for paper quality and intensity of print. It’s quite similar to the Judge (but not as nice of a cover). You’re right, Tim, they just don’t make them like they used to. And Tim pleeeeze don’t rebind the Judge! Unless you can find a similar printing of the book of James to replace the one marked up. Then I’d say do a rebind and replace James. Thanks for the awesome work you do.
Tim - can you do a video on a premium Bible with large font (11 or larger), a single column with references in the margin preferably, first choice NKJV and 2nd choice NASB 95, and finally, not as thick as a dictionary? 1-1/4” - 1-1/2” thick would be great. Is this a unicorn? Thanks!!
Hey thanks for great comparison video. I just got myself a new goat skin Zondervan NASB 1995, wide margin verse by verse single column references along the side, still with writing room. I am really enjoying this Bible! Got it on Amazon with credit card points 😜. I’m using it along with my beautiful red calfskin NLT Schuyler. I’m so spoiled!!! Oh BTW, the glue smell on the NASB is a bit rank when it first comes but it does wear off. I’ve had the Bible about 2 weeks now and it has significantly reduced in fumes.
I just got started on a NASB this week. I'm not wild about verse by verse, tried the "preacher's bible" to dip my toes in the water, will likely get a premium SCR if I like this one. I had a NKJV SCR before but the synthetic is a bit too stiff and had the text slanted unless I propped it up, if I get another it'll be a premium, I loved the text block. 95 or 2020 though? I'm on 95 for a control sample now, I think it's good but not as good as ESV or NKJV so far.
Very informative and helpful! I do like keeping the NASB in my rotation. Two questions for anyone who knows: 1) Is the font family, point size, and gsm paper weight shown anywhere on the copyright page? I don't see those specs when I glance through some of mine. 2) A year or more ago, I bought an NASB "updated edition" thinking I would receive the 2020 edition, but it turned out to be a 1995 edition. The copyrights listed are 1960, 62, 63, 68, 71, 72, 73, 75, 77, and 95. Whew! Updated indeed! So I must look for 2020 to be explicitly mentioned in its title listing? Thanks again for the videos. Tim did you notice a blue tint to the blue side column paper? I purchased the regular 2 column reference in faux-leather and it has a blue tinted paper.
