The other clone migdiy have similar feature. Not a button but you just swipe the top to change games.

Realistically, it's nonsense. Any game console maker could have done this if they wanted to already. You will still end up reautheticating your gamesy every day, there's really no point.

If the MIG switch is indistinguishable from a real cart, I don't see how this would solve anything. The MIG switch user could do the same as a user with a real cart.

Because of this flash card we know each NSW game has a unique identifier. If Nintendo wanted to they could let you copy card games to your Switch without need of ever reinserting the cart because they would have the ID. If you sold the game (which is why console manufacturers don't want to do this lets be real) and somebody inserted it into their system it would ping the servers and lock you out of the copy. They could do this and it wouldn't be a security risk or lose them money. But they won't do it because it would have zero financial benefit for them.

You still need a hacked switch to do this from what I've seen. So you can already do that with an internal SD card.

​@@TheMysteryDriverWhat? Why? You use the dumper to pull the game from the cart onto your PC. You then put games on the SD card which goes into the MiG. Done, no modded Switch.

I think there's a limit on the firmware, I doubt they programmed it letting it display 17281819 games when you insert a single cartridge. The limit should be 10 or 20 titles... probably

That would be dangerous and easily detectable, this work by spoofing the original cartridge, showing like 10 games is impossible with original cartridge.

@@MtFoxt Incorrect, take for example sonic forces + super monkey ball bundle (2 games show up and work with one cartridge), or the final fantasy collection (7 games show up with one cartridge)

Nope. These are just emulating the carts. They haven't done anything about the encryption involved. So unless a compromised certificate surfaces, there is no way to run homebrew code.

@@TheMysteryDriver It would take you 30 seconds to go to the mig switch website and see that you do not need custom fw to use the card. It is literally the first result on google, for that matter almost every post about the mig switch mentions that you do not need a modded switch to use it.

As far as I've seen you need a hacked switch to use it, makes it pointless.

that doesn't really do anything for the people that have the newer switches that can't because you could just sideload the games if that's the case. i guess maybe for convenience kind of dumb though. but ill give them credit for making it work love to see new ways to break the boundaries companies set against the consumer

I doubt that will happen. These are more like an optical disc emulator than an R4 as it essentially mounts an image of the original, encrypted cartridge.

That would require the mig to do more than just emulate a legitimate cart which is not possible at this time.
