You need a binocular (or trinocular, for making videos) microscope on your bench. Game changer for working on small surface mount parts. You can get cheap ones for around $250 last I checked... that'll probably leave you wanting various upgrades but it's been the single biggest improvement to my home lab.

I think it would be fun to try tweaking it up to the 902 MHz ham band.
