I watch your channel to learn about evidence based skincare. As far as the smell of skincare is concerned, I don't want to smell of anything - I want the best skin I can have. If I do want a nice smell, I can choose to wear a perfume. Keep up the good work guys. You're giggling is infectious & always cheers me up.

I’m a HUGE fan of the entire Aquaphor line-ever since it was prescribed as a compounding base for my radiation burn topical treatment after breast cancer radiation treatment. It is amazing stuff that I’ve found extremely healing of numerous skin issues-even very delicate/fragile skin areas. It turns very dry, atrophied, rough skin-even skin that includes tiny tears-into smooth, supple, moist skin. It also takes whitish-colored dry skin and brings back normal pinkish coloring. It can also relieve skin burning caused by severe dryness. I also love the Vanicream line!! I would use their Lip Protectant with SPF 30. Vanicream is developed for people with super sensitive skin.

With all due respect to your comments on Aesop being hair and body, I lived in Australia for 3 years and Aesop is huge on the high-end skincare/natural market. I use their parsley seed face wash and their scrub products on my face and a serum that has niacinimide/vitamin C and other stuff. They have a lot of different face creams with various use cases that I also use regularly. I’d love to hear your take on them. They don’t have much with active ingredients like retinol and other stuff that I use regularly but I’m a huge fan of their products and quality. Definitely pricey though - especially in the US - 30% cheaper in Australia.

That's not an ingredient. It indicates the level of UVA (aging) protection. I think four +'s is the highest it goes (i.e. PA++++). This is related to the SPF number which only indicates the UVB (burning) protection.

Triple bonus points for your correct use of Occam's Razor 👏👏👏 Please talk more about Castor Seed Oil in lip products. I had the same lip ballooning/peeling reaction to it that some people are attributing to Aquaphor. You mentioned it briefly in one of your earlier videos which led me to check the ingredients in all of my lip care and lip color products. It was in everything. I immediately removed products containing it from my lip care routine and my lip color products, switched to CeraVe Healing Ointment and my lips healed almost overnight. Not kidding it was like a miracle. I now take great care to make sure that Castor Seed Oil (ricinus communis) isn't in any of my lip products. I haven't experienced any swelling or peeling since eliminating Castor Seed Oil.

And because I'm cynical. So your information has not only provided guidance, but in combination with the clinical research our company gives us, I have been able to use other authoritative sources, like the Cleveland Clinic, to better understand ingredients and their mechanisms and purposes. Is it true that anti-acne skincare (retinol, adapalene, benzoyl peroxide, acids) are treating acne visually as the symptom, but the root of the problem is usually somewhere else in the body, eg gut/gallbladder/liver etc?

@hope9457 Год назад
Mu derm told me hormonal imbalance is root cause of my acne and if I stop using treatments they'll come back. And that's what happened with me too! So yeah it's true to some extent. Not with everyone but mostly the root cause is somewhere inside the body
@Madamchief
@Madamchief Год назад
@@hope9457maybe you haven't had a biology class yet? Your derm missed the important part of the "root" cause. Hormones will cause increased sebum production which may clog pores but the acne is caused by bacterial infection that lives only in the epidermis. No other organs or other parts of the body are involved. You can affect sebum production by altering your hormones but you will still have acne unless you address the bacteria on the skin. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are effective for decreasing sebum and bacteria. Your best chance is to wash twice daily and don't touch your face! Good luck just surviving puberty 👍

Hi doctors, question re: body skincare: On a day when you don't shower or bathe, do you still recommend putting on a body moisturizer? Would it still help with transepidermal water loss?

Please do make Go to the Spa videos showing skincare that has perfume as I believe it will give people a chance to educate them if the products are effective or not even if it has perfumes.

I prefer fragrance free (inexpensive doesn't hurt). Developed a fragrance intolerance and my skin appreciates when I read labels. Love the clinical research because while I can read the publications and such but without the medical training I have to do much more research to understand.
