If you give people new dungeons, give them more energy, if you give people more summon évents, give them more shards. If you give new gear upgrade the gear capacity. If people are screaming for a change in minotaur, change it? Why is it so hard to get that if you don't treate people as people they will leave you.
Since we’re ranting I’ll add my 2 cents: 1) CVC should ONLY once a month 2) if I’ve I have Lydia, I should not have to sit thru factions wars. Let alone twice. if I’ve completed it, why can’t I quick battle it???
I can’t wait until the Raid CC community moves on to the next game. I enjoy Raid a lot, but Plarium does NOT do enough to earn my money. Too much gamba not enough “game”. It’s a shame.
I've never bothered with fusions before, but even now they're beyond ridiculous. Plarium makes the threshold so narrow that you can't hardly miss a single event anymore. It's just too much stress for me. I don't care if I was going for Gnut or Armanz, no champion is worth that headache in my opinion.
100% agreed i'm usualy a competitor but in raid i just do what i want to do and i don't care anymore, they are toxic. The game is great in many ways but really toxic in many other ways. Never i'll give myself a headache for a game.
The Thor fusion was the first one I went for, I bought the daily gem pack as I was lacking, and if it wasnt for the maintenance with the 300 energy, I wouldnt have been able to complete it. I felt like just to finish it I had to neglect things irl, I dont play this game to be invested in it, I play it while Im doing other things, just to progress a little bit
@@PSNPaero86 Yeah it's really what I felt too. I'm 100% f2p but I had to spend the gems economy of 2 months in this fusion (which was my first fusion as well), and you need to be connected to the game almost everyday to grind that's crazy
i missed 2 fusions (the rabbit and wixell) because of an update that took longer. The worst part is that they give players stamina, some multi battles and a clan boss key... thats not even close to the 25 fragments we missed
You're 100% right. It's very predatory lately. The way these events are planned and a lot of the new content is made to suck everyone completely dry. Spend all these hard earned resources for little payoff in return.
Thor fusion was crazy easy on the money events, summons. This video is just playing to all the people who play this game a ton and love bitching about it at the same time.
What we've been seeing is "profit mode" in practice. We didn't know what that meant at the time or how it would manifest in-game, but I think it's pretty clear now that this level of monetization is their intended vision for the game from here on out.
Unfortunately, we live in a world. Whether it's a mobile company or a AAA gaming studio, the only thing that matters is profit and money. People want to make a change and have the company hear them then they have to stop giving that company money. Companies respond when their profits slow down.
I'm new to Raid (for reference I got my day 57 login bonus today) and I'm still learning how it all works. The main thing I've noticed is how much grinding you have to do. Now I know that sounds like a dumb thing to say given the whole nature of free-to-play games but hear me out. I was amazed at how quickly you can progress at the start. I was never short of energy, always had silver to upgrade, and was having a great time. But then there's a sudden shift and there's dungeon levels that halt your progress, making it really hard to get gear to make your champions better, and in turn, making it suddenly really grindy. Looking back now I realise that they make all the campaign levels and upgrading shitty gear really cheap so it doesn't seem like a game you'll make to grind on too much, but then the higher level areas kick in and you realise just how predatory the game is. As for the events, I don't even bother going for the fragments. They're way too hard to get for someone who doesn't wanna pay for energy refills and gems.
I’m kinda glad I’m still at that point in my raid career where I’m not even tempted to try and do these champion fusions or fragment chases to be dismayed by the antics plarium does with and around them.
Can't believe it took you this long to realize Plarium is milking you (all of us). Since day 1, Plarium has been massively predatory and uncaring of its players to levels never seen before in any other gacha game. I'm honestly surprised Raid has survived this long they way Plarium has managed it. Guess there are enough whales still blind to all the flaws and schemes to take your money that Plarium has carefully calculated.
What I don't get, is that the Event Calendar and in-game news are supposed to be there to keep the player base informed. An honest assessment of what is coming down the road, really does help all of us (CCs included) to plan accordingly. ColRed was absolutely correct in his angry response that had Plarium been more forthcoming, sales would probably have INCREASED rather than having the community feeling the adverse effects of FOMO and throwing up their hands and/or walking away.
I stopped playing (and spending) about 2 months ago... honestly, my life changed. I have more time, I dont want to smash my phone to the ground 3 times a day, I can wake up without worrying about what I missed, did I hit the CB with all my keys. AND more than anything, during CVC you dont have a life man... so yeah I got my life back, and I couldn't be happier!

I cant stop comparing Raid to Watcher.After 2 years in Raid I quit gotchas for about a year,then installed Watcher after seeing Ash in some commercial.Watcher is really generous,you get sooo many shards diamonds and other stuff just by playing the game,and fusions are a breeze,just follow the events and you will get the champ,no,stress,even if you are lvl 30-40 ftp there is no need to even pull shards,if you plan ahead.With backgroud battles daily stuff takes about half an hour(sent a team to farm dungeon,and another one to do guild boss).It just feels so much lighter and less demanding,I cant even Imagine plaing something heavy and frustrating like Raid ever again.
Don't add levels to Mino (referring to 7:17). Change it so that everyone in the party (who need scrolls) gets scrolls. Everyone gets xp (who still need xp). So, same idea for scrolls and (possibly) it's an easy fix on their end. Also, **massively** increase the total amount of silver and scroll count for each champ (unlike xp). Maybe lock that last idea to the level 15, idk. What do you think? Edited to say: To your point at 12:05, they used to let us know these things ahead of time, at least according to Colred in his video you referred to. I do not have a fantastic memory, but what he says does ring a bell! Does anyone else agree? (Just curious).
As a free to play player that last summon rush was straight bull shit. Excuse the language, but you do a 2x chance for legendary champs on the first champion chase, so people (myself included) blow most sacreds then are left with no shards for that last summon rush and miss out on the hammer points for Thor awakenings. I have slowed down on Raid significantly and moved on to Watcher of Realms because I feel like raid is way too money hungry and it has turned me off from a game I’ve played for over 4 and half years. Valid points about new players. One thing to note about consumable resources is that there are quite a few places that are level restricted, so even with all those resources, you can't immediately use all of them as a fresh account. On a different topic, it really doesn't justify how hard and how long it takes to get your first shard champion as a F2P player as a new player. There are also so many Legos out there that are stuck behind a 1% chance. So even if you get a Lego, you have hundreds upon hundreds to it be the one you need.
level restricted areas open far too soon and probably make the player feel worthless when they can't tackle doom tower as soon as it's accessible or 3vs3 (which nobody enjoys anyway)
I just started playing again and man the grind to get Thor was ridiculous. I managed to get him. But now with the far hammer events. I got nothing left. And I spent $150 to complete the Thor fusion. Love your channel Ash keep going. My son and I watch you all the time.
I agree with the sentiments, Ash. But I feel like everything Plarium is doing for this game with its sneaky anticts is 100% purposeful and intended on their part, with them fully knowing it. I don't like to view anyone or any company this way, but I know that if a person or a company did something that they didn't intend or think about, they would offer some kind of public statement or apology so people do not get the wrong impression. The fact that there is never one of these for the stuff that matter to us, says everything we need to know.
There are tons of things that made me mad about the game compared to other gacha games,even old ones like Onmyoji that nobody here would even know that title. But there,on that game they give you monthly events that give a random Legendary unit,they stack you up with free energy at minimum 10.000 so you can farm for hours,they give you random gear pieces that you can buy with event points by just playing the game for 1 hour a day for 2 weeks during such events. The energy cap on most of the games is high enough that it refils fully in 24 hours,that'd be like 540 energy in Raid and once it fills you refill 2 times slower but have a stored energy that could go up to 3700 if you are away of the game for a week or something.
100% agree, they do not look after long time players, they do not care about properly informing us of upcoming events, they don't care that fusions have zero room for error unless you're spending alot. I love this game but is getting so exhausting. On another topic Ash, have you tried Bloodstained? It is a spiritual successor to Castlevania. Great game!
i was just thinking about the new player experience; i noticed just how fucking CLUTTERED the Bastion is, even to the point where sometimes I can’t even navigate it despite having played for multiple years.

And all they needed to do was be honest about what the summon event was going to be ... everyone who plays Raid is in an abusive relationship to some degree ... we get used! And we stick around and complain cause we still love the game and the community that has been created around it. Two things that really grinded my gears. 1. That summon rush with the hammer points really sent me to the shadow realm. 2. The Odin money chase tournament is crazy. It's bad enough that he's the only champ with a 40% spd lead, then they put him in the tournament. The gap is now grand canyon size
OG veteran players don’t really talk about the Great Hall anymore. Back when bots were around, everyone filled theirs up quickly. Now, with so many other things to do in the game, it just feels like too much effort.
Sad part is Plarium might add levels to mino but would end up like trying to run 25 shogun. Where you need a whole special set up or just buy the scrolls like they want you too.
meanwhile summoners war on 10 years without powercreep and lots of rewards for newbies to catch up. My 1 month account now is stronger in live arena than my 9 year account because of how easy it is if you know what you are doing and got a bit lucky. No need for demn dupes. This game is indeed very predatory and takes over ur life
I came back about 4 months ago. I originally started in 2019 when the game was more tame and generous. They've continued to crank up the predatory practices to see what they can get away with. This event has left a sour note and I'm definitely not planning to spend any time soon.
I got banned right after the fusion started for "exploiting the refund policy". Three days later, my account wasn't banned. But I missed 100 fragments, and there has been no way to get them. I would have had to get lucky on voids and pull the fragment champion. I was really mad. Today I realized there will be another and another and another "must have" champion soon.
@elfishmoss1457 I did. It took them 3 days to fix whatever the issue was. I did ask if there would be a way to get the fragments I was unable to get because I couldn't get into my account. The response was basically no because the events were already over, and I couldn't prove I would have completed them. They weren't going to retroactively give me the fragments even though I didn't do anything to deserve the ban. I couldn't exploit a refund I never asked for or received .
I 1000% agree about dungeon divers. I spend a little but am in no way a whale. I wish during fusions or whatever when dungeon divers is up, if I already got all the points I needed for spider or dragons or whatever I could get the rest of the dungeon divers points in minotaur. I desperately need masteries on a ton of champions but during these events I can’t work on them because they don’t get me points for anything.
I can totally understand your gripes, makes sense. My gripes I hope Plarium addresses are; a lot more artifact storage, make the monthly campaign battles less than 500. There’s too much energy usage, especially when you have CvC and Champion events going at the same time.
I burned like 15K green shards between all the summons... so glad they put in the auto max level for common and uncommon's. this allowed me to save quite a few good shards.. it was torture though.
Just reading this makes me wanna quit, this is something i'll never do i can do 1K, but 15K? No way, i have farmed a lot of things in game but i prefere to farm veins in world of warcraft with Pvp on than this clicking and feeding 15K champs XD

I mentioned in earlier episodes, I use a magnifer to even see the too numerous amount of warriors on a screen (contacted support, they did show me how to turn this mess off)-but I feel you about the intricacies of the game being screwed with.
Hey, I went for Thor's fusion and decided to do titan event for a 5s soul. But bro... You have totally right about that avalanche of events, that are happening in the game right now. It's just unbearable sometimes, it take so much resources and time. But I'm assuming that right after this madness they gonna sneak on with Freya's event immediately, when most of us are washed away from resources now. And I'm guessing that Odin is also far beyond my and others reach... I think that the specter of profit overshadowed common sense in plarium company.
They do care...about making obscene amounts of money. You are 100% spot-on Ash, as usual. This is what the CEO meant when he said the game was going into profit mode. They have the player base, it's not growing much, they need to squeeze as much out as they can while it's at it's peak. It's 100% about the money and nothing else. Keep your eye on the ball.
This last summon rush definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and felt pretty scummy. We've had plenty of extra summon events to catch up in the past and they weren't connected to the titan event. This one feels mandatory not optional as it was originally advertised and for lack of a better word itnwas a shitty thing to do
100% agree with you. Also, to the point of your last video about siege, my clan cleared the enemy too fast for me to get an attack in until all I could do was hit a mana shrine rebattle, so I didn’t get any rewards this siege. That really sucks.
After coming from watching Fateless' latest video, they talk about communication from companies. How the lack of communication pisses off players but there are times when communication pisses off the player base just as bad. If i was a company I would prefer to communicate because then no one can say "there's a lack of communication" "they're being sneaky", communication is always the best thing in any situation.
Thanks for those true words Ash. For me im a little spender (around 50-100€/month) and i dont have a problem spending for those gotchagames. Thats what it is. But in the end its the points you mentioned, those sneeky backdoor moves, those missing quality of life things. Hope your words have a little more weight and Plarium may not drive the game against a wall. All the best for you guys out there from Germany!
They just don't care. I quit the game for 2 ish years over summoning frustration, cause I never got that dopamine, it was always rare after rare. Decided to give it another chance, dropped some money, still ended up with trash. I wanted to do this fusion but it takes an insane amount of resources I didn't have when I came back. I get that it's a game and they need to make money, but so many games do it better now as far as summoning income, the right amount of grinding, etc. Infinite Magicraid is a great example, I have never had a problem summoning in that game, only feeling like I needed to spend when I really wanted to reward the devs. Plarium needs to realize that other things are out there and their game has and will continue to be a meme because they do everything they can to alienate and screw their community, treating them as just another $ sign. This game would be insanely popular and alive if they would just adjust a few things but they are just too stubborn to do it.
Bro I really felt it, I am level 47 and I don’t have sht in the game yet, leveling up a champion to level 60 is like a whole day and an absurd amount of energy for me, and let’s not forget that we are talking about a champ might only work for some areas of the game, I been playing for 2 months and 2 weeks and that’s a long time investing hours every day to get nothing, I did 500K damage to Hydra and that gives nothing, I don’t have proper champs and it’s getting really frustrating!
I got 200 fragments for the fusion, but had no intention of going for this event at all. Wont spend for it and dont care if i get any of these Norse heros. Maybe they are wonderful, but that can be said of the last lot and for those yet to come. You had a rant full of good points, i cant take the game seriously so its a fun time sink. I ran out of FOMO a while ago and will just save gems and shards until a great champion shows up that i can get for no effort.
Is a huge step that one of most relevant CCs talk about this, lately they don't care anything, few months ago they at least respond the comments on social media saying : "We will address your suggestions to our development team" or something of this nature, but now they don't say nothing. Would be nice if more CCs join and make videos about this making a big Echo/noise about this issue, that would be the only way in that they will act.

Honestly, I thought this was one of the easier fusions to complete. The point totals for most of the events were pretty achievable outside of the dungeon divers that were a struggle.
I been complaining about not having Ninja for 2yrs,than Plarium made him a free login. I don't know if they was listening or they already planned to bring him back. But regardless,I'm a happy camper 😅
The fact that the Siege Stronghold issue wasn't fixed after this Siege just ended tells you all you need to know. Clans who upgraded their Stronghold but can't repair it are at a disadvantage, but there's no Monetization for Siege...

I get frustrated with raid a lot too. I tried and failed like three times before I was even able to complete a fusion. It was almost impossibly hard. When I finally completed my first fusion which I believe was jetney I was so excited and proud of myself and felt a good amount of accomplishment. Even though I hate that fusions are almost impossible. I think that this is one of the things that makes them awesome. If it was easier it wouldn't have as much value. On another point they did just give us Ninja so they gave us something. And lastly with the bonus points in the last summon event this is another thing that sucks but you have to remember that these people make casino games and I think they meant for it to be a surprise and there are certain things that they don't want to reveal because as I said earlier when you work hard and something is impossible it feels so good to accomplish it. I hate it and I love it. Hang in there brother! I know how it feels. I have been there with this game. Again I have come to the conclusion that this is how it is and how the operate and I think if it were all black and white it wouldn't be as much fun.
What's fun is that back in the day of fusions there used to be 140-160 fragments, so you could skip half the fusion and still get the champion. Now they bring out Maud, which is 100% bought by breaking down those fragments you either went over the mark for, or fell short on; they only put 110 fragments so it's physically impossible to go for Maud if you want the fusions... You either break down 10-20 LEGENDARY champions just to get ONE legendary champion. It's obnoxious and makes 0 sense. Bring back 5 fragments on every tournament for top 3. Might be hard but will let us go hard one 1 dungeon instead of having to spread across every single event...
Also this titan event is obnoxious as hell. They put a summon event DIRECTLY AFTER an ENTIRE fusion... They stacked Dragon and Odin dungeon tourney on top of eachother without even starting a dungeon divers, they also put a sand devil tourney that you're almost baited into doing because you get the free prism pull... Like where are F2P/Low spend players finding the energy for all this crap when they're not stacking these things correctly.
I remember when CVC started a couple years ago I was always good for 7-10 Lego books every personal CVC. I believe they turned the odds way down in clan boss rewards for them because for over a year now I average 0-4 books every two weeks. No other games like this don’t have a way to farm to upgrade skills. I’ve got over 50 legos waiting for books and the list keeps growing. They make their money from shards ffs , let us a have way to farm books.
I've been playing the game for 2 years and the only fusion i could complete was one that gave me Wixwell, and only because i was incredible lucky with the shard opening and got 2 of the epics needed.. If you play "for fun" like you should you waste the resources you'll need for the fusions.
All I have noticed recently is the GREED plarium has shown. I want to play the damn game so bad but 130 energy spent in 3 turns of any dungeon and then all the boring stuff next. $50, 60 90 DOLLAR PACKS on top of it.. so GREEDY. There is so much happening in the game too I can barley catch up during an event. I feel the pain.
My biggest problem with raid Shadow Legends is the cursed City. I've been stuck on the same map for months. I'm making plenty of progress with my champions but the limitations for that game mode are so absurd that all of the progress I've made is still basically nothing.
I gotta say, you're spot on about the aggression. We know about "profit mode". But now that it's been one year, I think the mythical system is what is pushing me out the door of this game. Their cost and scarcity is something else. Then on top of that everything released since has been meh. (Hydra clash, skiptranos, clan siege). Not looking good. Thanks for letting me rant.

Dungeon divers should include EVERY dungeon on that dungeons screen. Iron Twins should be only a key. No energy. Minotaur idea: if they don't want to add more stages, just boost the number of scrolls drop per stage. Results in us needing less energy for that 1 dungeon we barely have time for after all the other stuff they have going on. Quicker maxing out masteries on champs this way. Or even add more stages, making them drop more scrolls per stage + making the dungeon harder. Currently I can run 5 no mastery champs on stage 15, only 1 or 2 PARTIALLY poorly geared, and I still can win. Sure, might be slow, but it just shows how little of a challenge even stage 15 is. For the Titan Event, Deck of Fates, etc., they always do these after a fusion or near the end of one, so I was expecting this. Few other things I'll keep saying: Skins are only a cosmetic. They do nothing for the game. I will never spend $30 for a skin. imo, the skin costs should be this: $5 USD for an epic skin. $10 USD for a legendary skin. If these were the prices of them, I'd probably buy all the skins of champs I own, but not at the current prices. Bring back skin fragments in events/tournaments. AFAIK, they only did this one time for Trunda's icedrake skin. I have 20 of 100 fragments. Forget what I was doing at the time, but that was all I managed to get. My OCD would love to finish that off, even if I'd likely keep using the default skin for her. Just knowing I have 20 fragments sitting there bothers me. Maybe bring in something similar to fragments for champs that can be traded for something else, if they won't continue skins in this way. QOL request: Update the inbox. Give more filter options and change some of them. Such as, why does "other" = filtering for accessories? Just name the filter "accessories". Change the layout. 1 inbox item per line seems like such a waste to me.
Ngl, they throwing the hammer points into that extra summon rush was low. I managed to complete the Thor fusion without spending too many shards (got lucky, did the 1st summon rush and champ chase with only ancients) and I was planning to skip it and save my 12 sacreds for later. This forced me to spend them otherwise I'd miss a truckload of points for the Titan event.
I agree. There is no consideration for player progress in a few areas. In masteries if you run a hero through and have let's say 2 mastery points left to get. Instead of cutting the gem cost down they leave it at 800. In the area bonuses an upgrade that cost 200 copper tokens also costs 200 silver for the same upgrade. Why have different tokens? Why not all the same color then. For affinity bonuses an upgrade that costs 200 copper only costs 100 silver. So yeah they could do better but choose not to.
I've been only 3 months in this game but since day one noticed weird things like 1 item costs 1$ and 5 - 8$, just couldnt wrap around my head as to whats going on, not to mention the events... Starting champion progress event and only day later dungeon divers. The trickery in this game is on every corner. Transparency non existent. Someone at plarium should get fired for bs like this
I'm an OG player from 2020 until Karato fusion (think that was sometime in 2022?) and then I quit the game until July this year. One thing I have noticed is 99% of champions are obsolete now that used to be meta. It's stunning to me that if you open arena now the top teams are 100% new champions added within the last 1-2 years. They can't release content fast enough anymore because they've made champions too powerful so anything new content wise that drops is cleared within minutes by end game players. If you think about the TOP champions from the game back in 2022 they excelled in one role only. New champions excel in multiple roles they're a Siphi combined with a Trunda and that's unfortunately killing the game.
It's the players that enpowering Plarium. Ash included. There is nothing that can stop some of them from playing and spending money. Plarium knows that. So these players can complain all they want, Plarium is not gonna care. I semi-stopped playing over a year ago, just do the daily bare-minumum. It is so stress-free. I am so glad that I have never given Plarium a single penny. If players want things their way, take back the control by unite the players in staging any forms of boycott. You know how people forces companies to give them a raise? By staging mass continuous strikes, those companies never had a chance.
I’m Level 91, total free to play, I see the way the game is going, I get tempted to spend, but my challenge is to keep progressing my hard working champs, as a content creator you feel a different pressure, you’ve gained respect from your personality and knowledge! The Asgard event is a cool concept with great new champs and we should be excited for this but instead I’m feeling frustrated because of how exploitative Plarium’s tactics are.
I've done the math on it several times and spending the 800 gems on masteries is worth it. You can potentially save 100+ gems by farming, but you will spend a ton of time unless you are end game. Early game it's 100% worth the gems
Tbh raid isn’t even that bad as far as gachas go. The 50/50 limited banner summon system in other games is just robbery. I find myself always going back to Raid because the game genuinely has good content for players that like turn based rpgs
I scored 39.17M on Nightmare , I saw it with my own 2 eyes. By the time it hit the leaderboard it was 39.16M !? ... ... oh yea that's right, they knew I had 3 keys in my stash. I had to burn a key for 0.01 . It's worse than being robbed of SR on COD .
the worst part for me being new was i didnt know about the codes for the free legendaries. find out about em later on and be too late made me so so salty and i really enjoy the game but then like constantly missing out while playing years of catch up is like demoralizing and i play osrs so i know a grind but like let people use the codes for the free stuff at least and help us get to the end game and know what the green keys are for and scrolls and stuff. the only time its playable as new player is when you have double xp
The summon rush thing was ULTRA scumbag. I just started playing again after a long break and it put a sour taste in my mouth. I probably will stop playing for good. Big fail.
I am playing 19 free to play RSL accounts so I can solo siege warfare. However, the bastards at Plarium have removed the gifts for siege wars when an account hits level 45! I stopped doing fusions after the dwarf last summer as they are now not viable on low spend accounts, which I used to be.
I'm going to compare RSL to Terraria and Genshin now, hear me out: In Terraria, what was one of the major issues? Platforms. What did the devs do? They LISTENED. They responded, and made changes such that the platforms would be better. In Genshin, what was an issue? Losing 50/50 every single time. What did the devs do? They, once again, LISTENED. They not only made a failsafe for losing 50/50, but also gave out lots of gifts. If another gacha game has no problem listening to its community even if it costs them millions of dollars, why can't Plarium? I believe that most of the community's opinions have well intentions and are perfectly reasonable.
Cant believe you muffed up the Thor fusion. Its kinda funny, but i also kinda feel your pain. I mean its alot of work and to miss the LAST part is a but clencher. You probably had all kinda plans with Thor. Lightning everywhere. He's is good tho' I have tested him alot. very very good :P
I'm F2P. I started in 2023, and I completed the Thor Fusion. The first one I have completed. I broke the points I needed out over 3 days, and set goals to hit each day.
