A new way of designing a waterproof button 

Azoteq can design dust- and waterproof inductive buttons for action cameras.
Contactless sensing makes action cameras super reliable and easy to manufacture. A small deflection of a metal object is sensed by an inductive coil sealed inside the housing.
The construction consists of a solid barrier that protects the electronics inside the housing from dust or water - while the metal target and rubber cover are mounted on the outside of the housing.
Two distinctive force levels offer two functions per button. For instance - a half press to focus on the subject and a full press to take the picture.
Buttons are available in different sizes.
The IQS7225 can be used to design up to 4 inductive buttons with a single chip.
