Glad you are on the mend all the best for 2024 the last 4 yrs we have all been poorly last year it went right through till February and this year thought yes we doing good then had to phone ambulance Christmas eve for eldest who couldnt breath but sat here now hes our prioty plenty more Christmases hopefully ❤

I'm sorry...did you say cold showers? THAT sounds dreadful! Lol! I am trying to eat healthier this year, more fruits and vegetables. I want to lose about 8 pounds. My regular exercise routine is to run 3 miles per five days a week. My husband has moved my exercise bike into our bedroom per my request. I would like to do a morning "bike ride" followed up by running in the afternoon. I also want to do some weight work with hand weights. Glad you and your family are feeling better! We had the crud last Thanksgiving (2022) which put our Christmas a day later than expected which was fine. My girls make Christmas presents for everyone in our little family, and they were not done. They were so stressed, but we explained to them that we can have Christmas whenever we want. And it was lovely. Happy New Year!!! I hope you have your power back! ❤

It sounds like you do plenty of running, I need to get into some sort of a routine like that. A few years back we had the treadmill in our bedroom and that was the one time in my life I ran really consistently so I can totally see where you’re coming from wanting the exercise bike in your room. Happy new year! I hope you achieve your goals. I keeps dabbling either cold water therapy but I think life is too short and it makes me miserable 😂😂. There’s literally only one time I tried it and felt good after.

I tried to make bone broth and it didn't taste very nice, and smelt awful. Think I need to work on that haha. I hope you wasn't without power for much longer. Lovely to see you. I got a kitchen aid for xmas so going to try making your bread recipe xx

Oh no! You have to add loads of salt to it to make it taste good but I always add it when I’m cooking a meal with the broth so I can taste how much I need but without salt it is pretty grim. How lovely to get a Kitchen Aid!! I hope the bread turns out well xx

My family had the flu on Christmas. We didn't celebrate until New Years, that was hard for the little ones to understand. I hope your power is turned back on soon.

Lovely video to start the new year. William at the table 🙈😂 🤪 Can’t believe how much they’ve all grown in just a short time. Hope your electricity came back on promptly. I also worry about the energy prices here a fair bit and am overly cautious with what we use. This new year I hope to not fall into being too busy for the sake of it yet I want to be productive and accomplished with areas I do choose to spend time on. I want to do more handicrafts. I’m also hoping to eat healthier than I have been recently although my sourdough is driving me insane as I can never get two the same even using the same recipe and conditions. It’s driving me crazy as the time it takes me is not worth a failed heavy bread. Sometimes it’s just beautiful. Others 💩 I’ve resorted back to my pullmans sandwich loaf tin and plain white bread. I’m currently trying to calm myself of the inevitable “fear” I get each year wondering if the children are doing enough and resisting the urge to buy in stacks of curriculum we will then not use! 😂 Do you ever feel like that with homeschool and get a mini panic? I always manage to re find my belief in our ways of doing things but for some reason it does creep up on me every now and again! Happy New Year!

I go through phases with sourdough, sometimes I can just not be bothered but I’m enjoying it at the moment. What about just making ‘normal’ homemade bread? It’s still better than shop-bought. But sometimes you just aren’t in the bread making mood and there’s nothing you can do about it 🤣 Yes, I am like that with homeschooling, I think it’s good to keep questioning if you’re doing it right though, then when you go back to how you were doing it in the first place you feel much more reassured 😁 Happy New Year to you and your family xx

Happy new year, happy to see you back here! No new years resolutions, but I will try to go for a walk more often, and also remember to make my sprouts as I have been making a lot this last autumn. I am washing my face in ice cold water every morning, I fell that it is better than nothing, as I don't think I will be brave enough to take cold showers. Btw: you are not rambling! I enjoy listening to your reflexions. We are having a winter storm at the moment, and it is currently 10 below, and a strong wind from north, which makes it very cold. In my house we have no fireplace or woodburning oven, and I have been thinking a lot lately about what if the power went out... so I am going to buy a gas heater, just to have if needed. I also have a small camping stove, just in case.

That’s such a good idea to wash your face in cold water! I’m going to do that as I definitely can’t face the cold showers yet, maybe in the summer. Brilliant that you’re getting prepared with the heater and stove, I should think about getting a gas heater as well xx

I’ve just signed up to do a Masters In Environmental Science with The Open University. I’m a musician, but because I don’t have a degree, I feel that the other teachers don’t treat me the same as other Class teachers.(I’m a private music teacher that goes into this one school. Been there for 26 years although you wouldn’t know because of how they are with me) so I thought stuff this. I need to feel good about myself and worthy. I have home educated my children to degree level which I’m very proud. But, recently I have felt that I need to do something for me. I so, admire you, you have given me so much inspiration and calm with my home education. Thank you so much. Love your vlogs and I’m so glad you are all better xxxxx

such a lovely vlog Alex. I knew there would be power cuts soon too. do you know the national grid. tel 111? will give you take away vouchers if your electricity is off for 3 hours or more. we've had a few power cuts in the area lately.Oden has shot up and its lovely to see Scarlett cooking at that age, my kids all cook too, I think its coming from a large family, they learn earlier. some 18 year olds don't have these basic skills!!!. Happy new year to you all. xx
