After a couple of week being grounded because of rain or wind I was able to get on the water today. Great day out but the fishing could have been better. A nice 59cm flathead was a good reward. Plenty of boats on the water today with all appearing to be in hunting mode. Ran into one viewer who has the same model boat as mine. Good to meet him.

Nicely done Foss. Hearing all of those cicadas in the background means you'd be a good chance of picking up some nice bream using cicada style floating lures cast towards a rocky shore where trees grow close to the bank

Peter don't often fish for bream. Same for my mates. Generally the bream in the Camden Haven River are nuisance things that just chew the tail of your plastic.

@@fishingwiththefossil.6199 Foss - The Australian record yellowfin bream was caught in the Camden Haven River by Horace Sedgley on 7/7/1984. It was an astonishing 4.445 kg ! A cast of that incredible fish use to sit proudly on the wall inside Sonters bus depot in Bold Street, Laurieton before they moved their whole operation out of town. By the way, the biggest flathead I've ever seen and measured was also caught in the Camden Haven River. It was taken at dusk back in the late 1970' by an old chap fishing from the North Haven training wall. I was standing on the wall above and behind him and as it was almost dark I thought it was a shovel nose shark as it came to the surface close to shore. I'd just finished fishing and I had a measuring tape in my tackle box. That flathead was 117 cm !

Bryce, 58cm is a nice fish here. Don't hear much over about 65.
