Thank you! I hope to see things like this in KH4 for sure, but I don't think it will have this exact atmosphere, it will probably be a lot more cheerful, with it being KH. Even the things we saw from Verum Rex, while looking really cool, felt quite different from VS XIII. I for example don't really expect Quadratum to have the gothic architectures that we can find around the citadel of Insomnia (and other places in the original VS XIII designs).
I’ve put in over 400 hours playing ffxv and used glitches to explore the various forms of Insomnia(version 1.0, royal edition, Ardyn dlc) and i still don’t recognize many locales that you’ve managed to reinterpret back into you’re complete version of Insomnia. This speaks to your dedication and also the grand scale of the city. This mod is gonna be great!
Thank you! The inside is actually not fully updated here, I did some work on Blender that I haven't imported into unreal yet because of how long the process can be everytime like I mentionned before. Like you see I haven't included the conference room yet, but I was thinking that maybe we could prepare it and then try port it to unreal during the livestream maybe 😄 I'm glad you like how it looks though!
@@Larxia i absolutely love it, I did notice the conference room is not there and for good reason too, it's massive and needs to be properly set withing the citadel, even for a not finished/not fully updated build of the interior of the citadel it looks breathtaking I'm telling you! this looks like a complete city top to bottom(even if there is more work to be done ^^) amazing video regardless :)
Seeing your work on the conference room and some of the other areas has been making me wonder if you have a background in 3D art/modeling. Out of curiosity, what other stuff have you worked on before? Also, do you plan on including the subway or any other underground areas? I haven't played Episode Ardyn, so I dunno if there's a non-ruined subway map for you to work with. Besides that, I guess there's also the portion underneath the Citadel.
I don't have any background in 3D art / modeling no, well not really a lot at least, nothing profesionnal and I'm mostly learning as I go. The only notable thing I've done before in this kind of work is my map ports for Tony Hawk's Underground Pro, more particularly my port of Baltimore, because I expanded it with brand new areas to turn it into a seamless open level, you can see the trailer here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r1Ex1wWCTmY.html I've never "worked" in 3D art however, if that was your question. For the subway, episode ardyn doesn't have any subways no. I actually looked into the subways from the ruined version, but the problem is that it connects areas that are different / not there in the episode ardyn version of Insomnia, and it would require a lot of changes to bring them back. There are several differences in the layout of the city around these subways entrance. I might still keep thinking about what I can do for it but at this point it's kind of complicated to get into such change in design. The subway under the citadel however isn't available anywhere, the only remains of it were in the platinum demo.
@@Larxia That's interesting that you don't really have a formal background in 3D modeling. I always hear that people should start learning Blender by making donuts, not replicating complex gothic architecture. Also, I'm assuming that Flagrum (?) can't rip stuff from Platinum Demo yet?
@@eternalpain7762 I mean, I have some basic knowledge of blender now after all the stuff I did with Tony Hawk games, I made a lot of new areas from scratch there, so I know several of the tools, how to do different things, I didn't start directly with ghotic architecture, but I never followed a real formation, training or things like that 😅 I learned while doing that. I'm still fairly newbie in term of 3D modeling. And no, Flagrum can't rip, or even detect anything that's coming from outside of the main game. Even mods can't be extracted 😔 I asked the author of flagrum about that, and he did this to avoid people stealing mods from each others etc... So the platinum demo isn't possible with the limitations set in flagrum, but even without this I don't know if it would be compatible, it's probably different on ps4.
@@Larxia Ah, somehow my mind completely skipped over the part in your first reply where you talked about adding new areas and connecting stuff. Whoops. That context definitely helps, though it's still cool to know that you don't have much in the way of formal training. That's an interesting tidbit about Flagrum. I've only been watching the FFXV modding scene from afar, so I don't know much in terms of detail. Thanks for always replying to my comments by the way, I probably ask a lot of stuff.
@@eternalpain7762 That's okay I don't mind the comments 😄 Yes the experience I got with my levels in tony hawk helped, I'm using a lot of similar workflow here, until I import things in unreal engine which there is a totally different thing.
Damn, what an incredible job you've made. It's just wonderfoul! Maybe it's impossible to do but wouldn't be better to use yozora model instead of riku?
Well, it's Insomnia, not quadratum, so Yozora wouldn't be particularly more "accurate". I initially would have liked to use Noctis, but there's no good playable noctis mod, so instead I used the mod that makes Riku with Noctis color theme.
@@Larxia Man I wish to turn on notifications for community posts. I'm subscribed with the bell on, but I didn't even know you did community posts because not once have I seen one of yours in the feed.
