I used to live in Paris at Massena Blvd. from '95 to '04. Watching this brought back a lot of memories. The sound of the trains wooshing in and out of the tunnels, the sirens they make before they close the doors, the voice announcing where you're at, none of that's changed. I remember the platforms were a lot bigger, but that's probably because I was so little at the time. Thanks for uploading this.
It makes me bring back a lot of wonderful memories I had in Paris! I can't travel to Paris now but thank you for bringing all the amazing video to all of us around the world!
Went to paris last week and i'm still in awe of the amazing maze they call the metro in paris... loving it.. aside from some of the junkie ridden stations..
I notice that there’s graffiti on the trains now. The trains were clean in 2012, the last time we visited Paris. The first time I visited Paris, you could still find the Sprague-Thomson. I am a métro/subway affecionado and I loved especially the Sprague-Thomson trains.
I used to use the Moscow subway (Metro) and always took it for granted. Having seen videos of the NYC, London, Paris, Tokyo subways, the Moscow Metro is One of the most beautiful human creations, no matter the cost or the initial intention
@@Yoshi-zm6qh That is correct, et vous avez raison. London - opened in *1863* Paris - opened in *1900* New York - opened *1904* Moscow - opened in *1935* _(it was part of Stalin's five-years plans.)_ Whatever it is, they are all engineering marvels.
Considering how many people from the Gulags died making that tunnel, you SHOULD appreciate it. When people died building it they just buried the dead as they went. People were FORCED to build that until they died. You SHOULD love & treasure that Moscow subway on that alone
Je suis un parisien et je suis content que les "étrangers " s'intéresse autant à paris💖 I am a Parisian and I am glad that "foreigners" are so interested in Paris 💖
Where can I find the sound of the start from an anouncement in the metrostation. I don't mean the anouncements where you hear which station is next, but just the anouncements in the station
Just recently been there with my girlfriend. She’s moving away this Friday to university. so obviously that saddens me. memories here with her I will never forget. it felt like home from home
If Ligne 5 is anything to go by, much of the system is in need of modernisation. Outside of the hubs there are few escalators or lifts, so if you are older or carrying a suitcase you are in for a shock . . .
*@Yonathan Asefaw.* That is _unacceptable,_ being in Paris and not taking the metro is like being in an American cinema theater and not having popcorn.:>)
@@yonathanasefaw9001 No, it was a joke, and no rudeness, that's why I put _unacceptable_ in italic. :>) Hope you will have a safe and pleasant séjour in Paris. Just beware of pickpockets, they are infesting the metro trains.
In Paris, they close the doors very fast 😳. When we arrived at the destination, the doors opened but at the same time, the alarm (that it’s about to close for take off) went off and people were rushing to get in or out so fast. 😂 I guess the operator just wants his shift to go by quicker.
Where's the train delays and strikes? Jk, I was fed propaganda from young that Europe is full of train delays and strikes, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
@@DFandV If it was last december, that's normal, the whole country was under mass demonstration against the retirement law. The workers of SNCF (national railway) were against that law.
Because it is seen as disrespectful in France if you start talking and making noises. So everyone is quiet, plus it is the morning no one is happy to take the parisian metro to go to work ahah. Everyone is depressed at this hour.
It’s always like that in Paris...that reminds me when I was working on an office in Montrouge, I took the métro everyday and people are like in the video: silent or watching their phones
@@water9584 Of course in Paris you can feel like in Africa : parisian climate, food and architecture are typically african ! And what's about New-York ? Africa too ? And London ? I bet you feel like in India, no ?
amazing video- really helpful! !--- I ll be staying in paris (from 1-7 july). I m going with my wife and 2 daughters (10 and 8). My Airbnb is 2 minute walk from Val d'Europe train station. I m gona be landing on CDG Airport on July 1 and I will depart from Orly airport on the 7th of July.and my next stop will be stockholm. My questions are--- 1-will this Navigo Decouverte 1 week pass be enough to cover all my transportation expenses during my trip (knowing that I want to go to Versailles, Disneyland Paris, orly airport ,and central paris). The problem is that I heard that Navigo pass validity starts on Monday morning and ends the following Sunday. So if this is the case, what shall I do for (1-2 july duration??!).-i heard navigo easy will not help me since i will be using the RER to go to central paris and i m basically living in zone 5-so ,,.shall i use the 2 daily mobilis day pass for my 1st 2 days?or is there a better idea? 2-i heard that there would be some strikes that would interrupt train schedules. Is that true? If yes , how can I verify that my trip will not be affected by that. 3-i ll leave from orly airport on 7 july, = what is the cheapest way to go there,,(flight departure time is 1630), what time shall I leave from my Airbnb? 4- i want to buy a pre paid phone sim card so that i could make calls and use the internet in france and sweden. so shall i get this from the Tourist Information at Terminal 1 ? or shall i get this from Serris(maybe cheaper?!)? is there a specific carrier that i should go with? or shall i use this www.amazon.com/Orange-Holiday-CardCOMBO-Authorized-International/dp/B07RYLB6PK ?i want this to work till my departure day from sweden(16 july). thanks again for the great help!
Direwolf's Den If it looks like Morocco to you why did you say that you did not know North Africa was that developed. Also look at the signs, they are written in French not Arabic, plus the title states that it is in Paris
The hell everybody is French, so if Whites, Mexicans, Muslims and Asians go live in Uganda foes that make them all Ugandans in Uganda?, NO!!!!!!!, The non-ugandan are called tourits or visitors RIGHT?????, Why is it that in White Countries everyone bestows the countries and people's names??, I guess that's Multiculturalism and Diversity: Stealing, claiming and entitlement to a country that isn't even yours.....
10 years ago Paris was one of my favourite list city i wanted to go😕. Until then, i have been there for 3 times and i started hate Paris forever. 1.Pickpocket in the Metro, 2.So many scam & 3.People need really to aware and be careful every single step when we walk in underground. Hence, I decided to go to South France which is more beautiful and better people. Lastly I love France 🇫🇷! But not PARIS.
In Europe, scammers and pickpockets are everywhere especially in touristic cities like in Barcelona, Rome and Paris! Be careful, blend in and don't let your attitude influenced by these scumbags!
yes of course because they are new, parisian metro is the oldest one, we have basically the best distribution in the world... like every 100 meters there’s a subway so yeah it has its ups and downs

@@ChachouLP the people with french last names like cormier, abelard, dubois, petit, moreau. Not immigrants. Are you going to say that french people dont exist now and the idea of a race is fake?
This is racist. Real french people are everywhere in this video. People who live their lives here interracting with each other. I may be white, if I go to the French Antillas, I will be surounded by black people who are French since more generations than me.
@@eric0dujardin if anyone who is not french does a DNA ancestry test it will never say french. They have other ancestries; other blood. So my question is: where are the real french people? Because i see no one in this video that looks like they eat crepes and speak langues d’oc or are names brassard, cormier, dupont, etc. where are they? Have they disappeared?
@@ECapo-uw2cl 90% of people in the video are white+ethnic statistics are prohibited so with wich information are you basing yourself to affirm that there is no more french people in Paris, I don't understand your plot. I don't know where you from but in France people who speak and have French culture are considered French. From my experience a big part of french people have doesn't have traditionnal french names even the whites persons becauses of their multiples roots from everywhere in europe.
I am in Paris now and find Paris metro depressing , lots of pickpockets , very dark stations , you only showing a good station , there are very fews of this , most of theme are just medieval
As a Parisian I find you rude. Everywhere you can have pickpockets so be always carefull. Yes some stations have to be clean/ changed but I love our Parisian subway :)
