Looks like a nice project. Do you have access to a swaging machine or have a lead on a rigger who can do it for you on thr cheap? The previous owners of our boat installed DIY Hayn Hi-Mod swageless fittings on the all-new rigging and new chainplates in 2012. He also bought a metric shitton of wire (250' spool) so we still have enough new wire to totally re-rig the boat when we deem it necessary. All that we will be required to purchase is new cones for the swageless fittings. We may decide to recycle the longer stays for the lowers to save some wire for next time as all the corrosion issues will be at the cones. Our turnbuckles are unchromed bronze and look almost new with minimal patina. They are not even remotely green. Perhaps a little on the light coffee-colored.
That’s great, those things aren’t cheap. I’ll have the West Marine rigging shop in Newport Beach make all but the forestay as It has the Harken furler and any maintenance means having a Hi-Mod on at least the deck end of the wire. 👍
We used WM riggers to do our new lifelines. Wr were satisfied with the price and workmanship with the Pro/portsupply discount. I specified 1x19 rigging wire instead of standard plastic-coated lifeline cable. It worked great and will probably outlast the boat.
