This summer the Wildwood Boardwalk has been incredibly busy.
This is due mostly to the fact that it has been so hot.
This massive heat wave has people flocking to the ocean to cool off.
The temperatures with the head wave had Philadelphia feeling over 100+ degrees for two full weeks.
I decided to run up on the boardwalk to film what everything looks like all packed, and yes I bought the seagull with me!

I used to vacation in Wildwood every year when I was younger and living in PA. I'm talking about toddler to teen. Took my own kids there twice on cross-country road trips from Colorado. I see these videos and get that old sense of excitement that I used to get. Memories of riding bikes on the boardwalk, flying kites on the beach with my kids, hitting up Douglass Fudge on the last morning before Mom and I heading home, the Athens and Wildwood Diner restaurants, and so much more. Back then you could buy a book of tickets (60) for $10, and rides took one 1 to 3 tickets each. A book would last close to a week. One sad difference today has been the news of so much violence there. When I was 10, I could roam the boardwalk by myself until late evening with no fear. I'm 70 now, and Wildwood will always hold special memories for me and my now adult children.

I have now lived in the south for 2 decades and have recommended Wildwood to a few people and they now go every summer and avoid Florida

The prices are starting to get ridiculous. Motel hotel condo costs park costs etc. I will always go to Wildwood because it is my place but it has to come back to be family friendly.@@WildwoodVideoArchive

Always enjoy your videos Joey. They bring back many fond memories of days long ago. I have not been to Wildwood in decades so I take nostalgic vicarious trips with you. Wildwood has changed drastically since the fifties and sixties when I used to spend summers there. People today will have their own fond memories of their summer visits. Thanks for reminding me of how old I am. Just kidding. Keep the videos coming and enjoy your summer in Wildwood.

It is sad but you can go to Dorney Park and wild water kingdom 2.5 times verses 1 day of the combo Morey's pier. Morey's Piers have really out priced themselves and the rides aren't even always running.

That's the pier we always go to. Well, that and Adventure pier. We get the wristband package for the kids and it comes out to $50 per night per child for unlimited rides for 4 days/nights. My only beef with Morey's is the smoking/vaping and the few people who bring (non-service) dogs on the piers. They dont enforce any rules about either 🤷‍♂️

The Boardwalk just changed the rules to makes sure people know to not bring dogs. Hopefully people get stopped

I don't know if anyone will reply to this. But I am trying to remember the name of a ride that I used to love like in the late 70s early 80s. I forget what pier it was on. As a kid I loved it. It wasn't technically a ride but it was almost like a small movie theater without seats you just stood up and the movie screen was like a simulation ride and they would have you feel like you were on a roller coaster and then like you were flying in an airplane. It's on the tip of my tongue. And I tried googling and found nothing. Does anyone remember this??

I don’t think it closes too early. I know it used to be Columbus Day but we seen things close the second or third week in September.

Back in the 1980's we would purchase $1,000 of Wildwood ride tickets for $500 or halve price on Easter weekend . Ocean City MD two amusement parks sell park, water park & go cart afternoon & evening bands for halve price on black Friday at the 30th St Park then on Monday after Thanksgiving over the internet for 40% off then around 30% around Christmas .@@WildwoodVideoArchive
