I have mycobacterium abscess, but I do not have any symptoms the doctor says that I should have. It was discovered when I had a skin cancer operation on my right thigh and I accidently hit the corner of my desk and I hit the spot on my leg that was operated on. A round ball of pus came up and I went to the doctor. She did a biopsy and it came back with the m. disease. I had a couple of choices and one is the anti-biotics, Clarithromycin, Amikacin, Cefoxitin combination to be put into my body 3 times per week for 4 months. The side effects are not good and all the info I have found states that a new anti-biotic needs to be found. What is percentage that I will get better or get well if I use the method? I am on herbs right now, oreganol, silver, black salve, shark cartlidge and I was told that I could continue taking the herbs even if I go on the anti-biotics. The dr. said that I could even take the herbs if I wanted to and not take the anti-biotics or have a picc line put into my leg and administer the antibiotic in my body at home. With all the info I have read and heard by doctors no one has said anything about getting well. Thanks for your ans. Shelvy Manning shellman1038@cox.net

I have mac. It’s terrible in every way. I always feel too tired and SOB to do aerobic exercise. My experience is that mac causes suffering. I make no sputum and don’t cough. Thus, I can’t send sputum samples to the lab. I was diagnosed by bronchoscopy which caused a bad alveolar hemorrhage and low blood oxygen. I coughed up blood for days afterward. I won’t be doing that again. I don’t have my bed at 45 degrees, don’t nebulize saline anymore because it did nothing for me. The three meds cause me gerd, stomach pain and nausea. I can barely move, let alone run or do aerobic exercise. I’m in pulmonary rehab. I know no one with mac or any support group. I never knew there were foods we aren’t supposed to eat. What are they. That speaker obviously doesn’t feel horribly sick all the time. She spins mac like it’s no problem. She makes other mac sufferers feel bad when comparing themselves to her. Beth says how healthy she is. The healthiest person she knows.
