Paz tying her hair during the breakdown is one of the greatest moments in music video history.

Judith is the mother of singer Maynard James Keenan of the band A Perfect Circle, and the subject of his song "Judith". In 1976, Judith suffered a cerebral aneurysm, which left her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Despite her disability, she remained faithful to Christianity. Keenan has said that he blames God for Judith's condition, and that he watched her continue to pray.

This song still gives me goosebumps after all these years. A true classic.

What I love about this music video is how it consistently cuts between the band members instead of just focusing mostly on the lead singer.

It is a paradox that God is merciful, but also sometimes extracts vengeance and suffering. This song captures it perfectly.

Josh is such an anthemic drummer. It drives the song in a manner that puts the entire context of pain, hate, anger, and sadness in the best of way with no fancy tricks or gimmicks.

You can really feel what James went through with his mom in this song. It's so raw, not only in the lyrics but in the delivery. Really expressive and great music.

😢 I'm here because this is the song my son's father said reminded him of us. He passed away last week. Many many years ago when we first started hooking up it came on the radio while we were driving, he put his hand in my leg, it was the 1st time he'd done that. I knew then we were getting serious. It wasn't until a few months later that he told me this song made him think of me because I was like heaven beside him & he had hell with in. Rest is soul he did have hell within. The demon of addiction. He fought it so hard but after his mother was murdered that's when there was a giant empty hole, there for the taking. It was drugs for a long time, then we had our son & he checked into rehab for an entire year! He did great for over 8 years & then messed up again. That time got him locked up for a few years. After 20 years together the relationship deteriorated. But we have always been best friends & stayed that way. We lived 2 hours apart so we didn't get to hang out like we would have. He even had a new girlfriend & he was doing great. But then one day he decided he could have a drink every now & then. Nope. Full on alcoholic in no time. On top of that he was diagnosed with some heart, gallbladder & liver problems. He got locked out of his apartment last week in below freezing weather, the neighbor called 911, because she saw him out there for a long time, he went from ER to ICU & then died before me & his son could get there 😢 Everyone please take care of yourselves. Everything in moderation. Life may suck sometimes but ride it out. You never know how many people you really have in your corner. Life is always peaks & valleys & God takes care of us in both places. ❤

I've only started listening to this track within the past few months and, holy, it is honestly becoming one of my favourites of all time. Everything from the bass, guitars, drums, and vocals are pure bliss to listen to. Maynard James Keenan is unbelievable, everything he touches turns to gold.

This might be a rare 'perfect' song. The vocals, the bass, the guitars, the drums, the lyrics, the soul of the song, the passion. Everything about it and how all of these things complement each other perfectly is absolute perfection.

I was able to talk to Paz one time and it was a highlight of life. What a beautiful woman and a truly nice soul. The way she times putting her bun up in the break of the song kills me.

3 things I love about this video. 1) You never really see Maynard's face. He walks around, somehow disconnected. 2) Billy reaching for his slide. As a musician with hundreds of hours onstage at shitty little bars, I can attest that a good transition from slide to without slide takes a little practice. 3) Paz tying up her hair. I just love that. This is a masterpiece song, and the video only enhances this.

This song and '10 000 Days' are an evocative bookended peek into Keenan's relationship with his mother. He starts by excoriating her continuing faithful ways in the face of what he saw as divine betrayal. By the time of the latter song, his outlook changed considerably, even expressing a grudging respect for her toughness, tenacity and courage - qualities he noted were lacking in her fellow churchgoers.

My mother died of a degenerative called Alzheimer's 3 months ago. Found that this song was dedicated to Maynard's Mother who died of a stroke. Nevertheless, I have been obsessed with this song for quite a long time these days. Sometimes paths are similar and some songs are especially meant for you. I love you, dear mother. It has been 7 years and she suffered a lot from this disease. I always get aggressive when Maynard takes 3:16 of high-note voice to the next level. What a song this is. When you realize that this song is about his mother and how she had an aneurism and fell into a coma for years and the church told Maynard who was very young that it was because her faith wasn’t right. It makes this so sad and heartbreaking.

Tool fans worried about Maynard leaving for another band, the uncertainty…then they drop this….And some people had never seen Maynard before as he’d perform in the shadows with Tool. And the aura behind him as he belts out this insanely powerful vocal performance…unbelievable
