I was just there, the place is AMAZING! I made a video tour of the NRA Museum to my RU-vid channel - I wanted to include a clip of the 18-shot pepperbox revolver that is at the beginning of this video, but the footage from that room came out too dark - it really is the most-beautiful display of guns in that room. Unfortunately, when I was there the Theodore Roosevelt room was closed for renovations, although I could see a few relics from over the red-velvet ropes... This was the highlight of my trip to Virginia :)

what is the difference between a 4 , 12 or 20 gauge shotguns? Is it spread pattern?
@YOLOnyc

The size of the cartridge, smaller numbers are larger cartridges. Theodore Roosevelt's 4-gauge is essentially an elephant gun (something designed to take out a dinosaur.)

Gauge is actually a measure of weight. It's based on one pound of lead. If you cast 12 round balls of pure lead that weigh a total of one pound, that is a 12 gauge. Cast 10 lead balls that weigh a total of one pound and that's a 10 gauge. Each ball weighs one tenth of a pound. For a four gauge, each ball weighs one quarter of a pound or four balls per pound. This is true for all shotguns EXCEPT the .410. The .410 is measured in caliber.

what is the best cal. handgun to get if you want small as possible , concealable gun but with some stopping power also. (not a .22)

Hey Bret! Excellent question, however you might not get the best responses here. Here is my best response. 32. ACP is generally accepted as the smallest reasonable carry caliber. Some people however do not trust it because of its small size. If you want to have a little more freedom for misplaced shots go with a 9mm. Not that much of a difference though. Hope this helped! btw there are millions of videos here on youtube for that question.

Thanks I did learn. I was considering a 32. But I have never fired one so I (wrongly) assumed it wasn't much more than a 22. Now I know different. Thanks again

Anyone know anything about that little single shot pistol with the barrel blade at 0:29? Not the stainless one with the straight gold grip, but the black one with the curved wooden grip?
