Nice video. I ordered a new Mark XVIII that's coming out this year. Can't wait to get my hands on it! The more I get to know about the Mark series, the more I am attached to it.
Sorely missing the mark xv, 38mm with the upgraded eta movement with all Iwc parts (all gold plated) with the similar mark xii dial and hands. The sweet spot 👍
The Mark 11 is probably the most iconic model. In my opinion, the Mark series should really be IWC's most iconic line - it's the only one that's been in continuous production since the late 1940s. The Portuguese and Big Pilot were only reintroduced in the 90s and 2000s. Excellent vid as always Evan.
The two watches IWC needs to make yesterday 1. IWC Mark XI reissue - 38mm, no date, in-house movement, available with 20mm leather and canvas straps or a mesh bracelet with the new eas-x change system 2 IWC Mark XII reissue available in 36 and 38 mm, in-house movement, 20mm leather strap or a mesh bracelet with the new eas-x change system Is this not an obvious hit in the making?????
Your lovingly produced video on Mark XVIII convinced me to buy it. At first I thought to get it with a leather strap, but watching your video 2 or 3 times revealed the bracelet's charm. I am very happy with the purchase. I like it so much that I don't feel the need for a Submariner anymore.
Great video! I love the IWC pilots. And since you like the size of the Mark XII, perhaps you should get to try on the Pilot Automatic 36 (IW324010)? I would at least enjoy a video about that watch!
Great video! Very cool to see them all together. I’m fortunate enough to have been handed down a Mark 11 which is my pride and joy - very interesting to see the evolution of them all!
Awesome video. I love this brand and happy to say I own one of those watches, the blue dial Le Petit Prince. I will be happy to have all those watches in my collection.
Great video mate, always had a respect for the Mark series since your initial video, always thought it seemed a worthy contender to the Explorer. Also it baffles me how a couple of people have disliked this video, its beautifully shot, has great audio and is about something that is relatively uncovered in the watch space. Not to mention it takes bloody ages to make a video (I've tried)! Stay true to your path bro, it only leads to good places :)
Smiling because it reminds you of the movie, The Dirty Doze (1967)? Except that instead of 12 U.S. soldiers parachuting across enemy lines to assassinate German personnel at a French chateau, in this video it refers to 12 Swiss watch manufacturers (Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex) that collaborated with the German Ministry of Defense during WWII to kill, among others, U.S. soldiers. Under the American justice system, that would make each such company an accessory before the fact - that is, a person (or company) who aids, abets, or encourages another to commit a crime but who is not present at the scene. An accessory before the fact, like an accomplice, may be held criminally liable to the same extent as the principal. "Dirty" because they have blood on their hands.
I love the Mark XVIII, I am yet to put on a watch that feels and looks better in my opinion. Shame it’s just slightly out of the price range right now. I almost bought a Mark XVI a few weeks back, but it just didn’t give the same feeling, plus the leather strap was terrible! So I decided if I’m going to get an IWC, best to wait and get the one I really want on a bracelet. Great video, keep it up!
Evan! What??!?! I just got delivered my first big watch purchase, a IWC Mark XV tritium! I absolutely love the mark series and you launch a video like this!?!? Great minds think alike 😅 beautiful video as always 👌🏼
Can i help you, and therefore myself, with pronouncing the German word 'Uhr'. It's an 'ooo' sound. Not 'uh' with an 'r' at the end. So, ooohr in American English will sound mostly, somewhat, well at least way more like Uhr in German. Think of the sound an owl makes but shorter, added by an 'r' at the end. Please try, I believe in you :)
