I do not have a pipe but I often reflect on what my Mom used to tell me about her days in the Land Army, it was wonderful to hear about getting up on the dark mornings to milk the cows, to gather in the harvest and fling bales over her shoulder onto the wagon , to drink rough cider to clear the dust out of her throat I learned so much from her, the names of wild flowers, making bread, I count myself lucky, I know something of chickens, she could drive a wagon and horses. If only some of these skills still existed thankyou Richard for your channel for introducing me to raw milk for reconnecting me with life, real life, please keep going. Many blessings
Richard, you CAN grow Nicotiana varieties in the UK, although you may be advantaged by using a polytunnel. You'll get a lot more baccy for the effort, and can play with making your own blends. AND no tax to the parasites.
Beautifully made video, this is art. The lighting makes it look like a painting. You always look well-dressed which is already unique in these years. Very enjoyable video!
Richard, why didn't you nentioned the amazing rally in London yesterday for "Unite the Kingdom?" Andrew Bridgen made a fabulous speech, and the day went off peacefully with around 50,000 people. It was amazing. We must get this tyranical Government out.
I am guessing that you and Malcolm Guite would have a nice pipe session. Maybe, also with Dr. Alan Harrelson on the subject of agriculture and pipe smoking?
There is a very large community on line with pipe smoking. It's called YTPC which is ( you tube pipe community) many have videos that just have " presenters" that will talk about anything and everything from politics to what they ate for dinner. All depends on who you want to follow. I got into it sorta, because I wanted to learn video editing. But it's not my only hobby. Great video sir😊
Dear Sir, I do so rather like your videos very calming indeed. I if I may correct you on one point. The Pipe you smoked in the last video was Uakranian in make. I have several and I got them directly from there. I do believe I wrote a note to that effect to you in the other video. The checkslovakian pipes are a completely different kind o construct, they mor resemble Bavarian pipes and Wine Pipes. Some Briar of a kind, and in combination with porcelain bowls some quite elegantly decorated all with wind caps. I hope this helps. I just noticed that you called the Ukranian Pipe, a Checkslovakian, and I wanted to make sure you had the correct nomenclature for the correct pipe. As I mentioned before I really enjoy your video productions. I look forward to your next production with great eagerness. Thank You very kindly for reading my message. Best Regards, Doc
I would suggest any of the books by 'BB' (aka. Denys Watkins-Pitchford) he was very much a countryman and writes beautiful prose recording his many country activities in the 30's, 40's and 50's. Some books include: The Fisherman's Bedside Book, The Sportsman's Bedside Book, The Countryman's Bedside Book, The Idle Countryman, The Shooting Man's Bedside Book and The Wayfaring Tree.
My friend thank you for this comment! Truly! He was my favourite columnist for Shooting Times. Then I found out some years ago, he wrote my favourite book (after the Hobbit) from my primary school days (I'm 61) The Little Grey Men... our 3 room hamlet primary school head mistress who lived in the cottage next door to the school, read to us at the end of every day & his book was one of them. Years later, 1984 when I lived in the NC mountains, in the university library I came across that book & checked it out several times just for the nostalgia!
Thank you for this interesting video Richard. There's a very pleasant lady with a youtube channel entitled Nicola White mudlark-Tideline Art. She goes mudlarking on the river Thames in London and often finds clay pipes some of which are quite old. She has a book on clay pipes and is able to date some of her finds. Geoffrey.
I watch her too . She also has a very interesting channel making art with some of her finds . I think I remember her saying that they would snap the pipe as it eventually became harder to get a draw on it.
There is indeed a very robust pipe community on RU-vid known quite fittingly as the "YTPC". I am enjoying some Condor in a Falcon as I listen in to yer vid. Serene smokes, Gary
Hi Richard I've just taken pipe smoking back up after years of rolling tobacco, I used to like pipe smoking, but left it as I felt too young, but now I'm back on its amazing, do you ever smoke st Bruno, I think it's a great smoke , but maybe needs to dry out for a few hours before smoking on a plate or something. Great book too by the way. Jim.
I hope to make you some clay smoking pipes sometime even if it's only because they are fascinating! I'm intrigued as to whether one can taste the difference between wood pipes and clay. Evidently they feel different due to bulkier mouth piece on the clay pipes 💚💙💜
Clay pipes smoke cooler and dryer than briar pipes IMHO. They do not "Ghost" either (take on strong flavors from previous smokes), which makes them ideal as "tasting pipes" for trying out new, robust tobaccos. They do burn rather warm to the touch and you can't drop them or they're finished.
@@oldandintheway1955 Ah yes, we had thought they would burn hotter but didn't think of the potential issue with that. Fab tip there, tasting pipes, thank you!
This could have been recorded weeks ago and pre-uploaded to be issued on a certain day in order to give Richard a day off. He is entitled to down time you know.
Shilling for who is the question? And by that I mean yesterdays TR marketting campaign was a disgusting display of 'zionistic one human race' rot. So we've ascertained who you shill for, now your thoughts on Mr. Vobes if you please?
Why not talk of it yourself? You have a channel, do you not? Go on. I would love to hear your views on the rally. Alternatively, why not email Richard some names and connection details of those whom he might interview?
