oh my gosh you're right I forgot about those guys T-T. I think I just looked at the Reg G pokedex and said only Kyu-W based on that. But yeah at least those guys are either frail, special forms limited to a generation/held item, or otherwise miss out on SOMETHING for such a high SpAtk. istg gen 8/9 power creep drives me insane.

Honestly, Caly's speed should be slightly more average than the base horse, but make up for it with HP bulk and a slightly better secondary attack stat. It's still got mid defensive stats, so you can still pummel through its bulk with the right mon, and rocks still melt Caly-I just as much, but now you have a chance to out speed them (even when Caly-I has trick room up). And their moves should probably just be direct EQ clones.

I cant tell if this comment is sarcastic or not but i feel like yapping so I’ll elaborate. Caly-S runs other moves that arnt ghost type. iirc most sets are like. Astral barrage, draining kiss, some psychic stab, and then protect, so making a full team of normal types wouldn’t really counter it effectively especially because Caly-S is typically run with urshifu who runs close combat as a stab option to counter normal types. Also there are also only like,, Two good normal types i can think of off the top of my head (Farigaraf and Ursaluna-B, though theres probably some niche normal types that work too). Well would work in theory making a team to specifically counter one matchup isnt exactly optimal for VGC, and for astral barrage its usually a better idea to have just one normal type for switch ins and a wide gaurd pokemon to negate any spread damage.

Oh yeah i think i remember hearing how it was broken during gen 8? I unfortunately dont know much about that guy though since I have a huge gap in my pokemon knowledge from late gen 7-early gen 9 so when it comes to mons from that era im mostly only familiar with them if they currently make a splash in vgc ^^”
