"A Pretty GROTESQUE Misstep!" - Rod Liddle Criticises Keir Starmer For Culture War Against Tories

The Tory Party has undertaken a kind of “McCarthyism” by trying to find “woke agendas” in British civic institutions, Sir Keir Starmer has said.
In his speech at the Civil Society Summit in central London on Monday, the Labour leader said the Conservatives were waging a war on “the proud spirit of service in this country”.
Sir Keir said: “The Tory Party has undertaken a kind of weird McCarthyism, trying to find woke agendas in the very civic institutions they once regarded with respect.”
He said the Tories seem set on on “sabotaging civil society to save their own skin”, adding: “It’s desperate, it’s divisive, it’s damaging.”
Rod Liddle joins Jeremy Kyle and Rosie Wright to discuss the Labour leader’s comments.

Who do these MPs really represent?HM government always, he’s the daddy, the father of the nation,the boss, the sovereign makes the rules, the owner, the lawgiver, in his kingdom! King dominion!! Dominion the power to exercise the Law!!! He owns a lot of property including us that is why he as HM military to protect his property, HM prisons to keep his property inline, through HM courts. What's a lie? The Cons have been banging on about all sorts of stupid stuff quote Amid all the urgent material problems facing the country, why this relentless, almost pathological, search for wedge issues and cultural division points? One must assume the Tory party believes this is helping them. But examine the strategy, and there is little to suggest that this is true. The first thing to say about a government of a modern western nation setting out to “change its culture” is that this simply cannot be done. We are just too individualistic:

My wife and I (who are in our eighties) have been members of the NT for more years than I care to remember, but no more. We also always donated to the RNLI, but no more. This country and its culture are being dismantled, we want no part of it! People need to stop voting for the main parties! We need reform, vote Reform👍

There are days when ethic, religious and race animosities fill the streets, the media and the politics of Great Britain in 2024. Add to this the daily increase in legal & illegal immigrants, all bringing their own 'differences & expectations'. As someone who was around when the Yugoslav nation split apart with horrendous violence & sectarian war that still to this day is divided into three ideologies/religions/ethnic groups. I can't help but look at GB in 2024 and see scary similarities of division, hatred, conflict, ideological separations, religious antagonisms etc all growing by the day! All of which become ever more exaccerbated with perpetual unchecked immigration and all that brings and adds to the divisions for the potential for future violence! It seems only a matter of when?

Liddle's right. I've never voted Tory (I'll be 60 this year), but I won't be voting Labour either (nor Green nor LibDem). Labour could tempt me if they were left on the economy and socially conservative on all this culture wars nonsense. The culture warriors are invariably from the middle-class left. They have all the power and influence in our institutions, including within most of the trade unions, but they only amount to a minority of voters.

I have a question: if, Dear God-forbid, that Keir Starmer got into power, then, how can he choose a minister in his cabinet, "Minister for Women and Equaliities" when he cannot actually define what a Woman is, I mean you cannot help someone unless you locate who and what and where they are. He'll be going around in circles trying to define what a woman is. Starmer can say that he's sick of the culture wars, while fronting a party whose members and supporters are the ones doing the most to stoke it. We're sick of the culture wars because we'd rather be focusing on the economy, but they have to be fought or our way of life (most preciously freedom of speech) will be eroded and the authoritarians will have us all under a woke yoke. The culture wars will end when privileged middle-class culture warriors stop doing everything they can to undermine our institutions. You can believe Starmer if you like but, for me, if I see his lips moving I know him to be lying. He's an opportunist. The Tories have been bloody useless, but the idea of Labour gaining power is truly terrifying.
