Join me on an overnight kayak sailing adventure on Lake Okeechobee Florida. I ran into bad weather, alligators (alive and dead) iguanas and noisy birds. This was a good test of my equipment for the next everglades challenge, and I got to use my falcon Sail with a tailwind (briefly) to experience easy downwind cruising. It was a great trip and I hope you enjoy it as well. see you next time :)

Yeah that's a pretty good one, I still haven't made the tooth into a necklace yet, but it's clean and ready, glad you liked it

I really enjoy watching you kayak and move around the various waterways. I myself once did all of this but now I'm a bit slow. I keep going out in my boats but I'm a lot slower. I'll be 81 in 2 weeks. I have a 19 ft. dory that I made and I use it all the time for crabbing, fishing and exploring.

81 and still adventuring, I look up to you and hope I'm still able to get out in my 80's as well :). I'm also glad you enjoy watching my videos and you are get some entertainment out of them, that's the motivation I really need. Happy early Birthday, I hope you get your dory out for a sail ⛵

Very good video. The drone flight was nice to get an idea of the surroundings. I really like the glassy water too. It's so pretty.

Great video!! I have enjoyed all of your videos so far. I have been subscribed since the Everglades Challenge. I live in Dunedin. A lot of the spoil islands here are good for camping, but watch out for rattle snakes. A new pass has opened up that split Honeymoon Island in 2 so you could check that out as well.

Thank you very much, and yes You're one of my first subscribers :). Thank you for the update on honeymoon island, I heard about the new pass right through the island, mother nature is pretty crazy and it would be cool to document that

From Sarasota I’m loving these bro!! You definitely earned that gator tooth! Reminds me of the movie “the edge” where Anthony Hopkins makes a necklace from that bear claw Lmaoo! You need to rock that look 😆🤘

Agreed, I've gotten lots of ideas off other people's videos and love sharing what I know for others to use. And yes, the kayak is quick and easy to paddle, I'm really happy with it :)

That's a great idea! Lake Okeechobee is pretty far for me, but there are lots of places near me to do videos like that in the future :)

Thank you. RU-vid messed up the ending of the video by deleting background music and overlaying loud music that cut my audio out, but the bulk of that video is still good. Glad you liked it

The spray-deck is there to protect you from the elements. That was solid and appropriate use of the gear. It will keep you warmer in the cold and cooler in the heat. That said, only those who have practiced a wet-exit (tuck, trace, tug!) should wear one. Would your hammock fit in the boat with the tent and other gear? This warm-blooded kid would be reluctant to sleep on the ground around alligators. In this part of the world hammocks are called "bear burritos".

I thought about bringing both sleep systems too. Having the options would be great as the places I go very so much, and yes being on the ground with gators was "exciting" at times and being in a hammock would have been safer :)

Well slo you are a braver man tha I. Gators are ok ive paddled with them for years but big snakes are over my limit. Ive only seen one on the river i train on, enough! So now that you are getting things sorted out when are you headed for salt water. Lots of great places with enough challenges to test you. Looking forward to more!

Lol, I was talking to my dad about how surprising it was to not see a ton of snakes down there. I know they were there but they stayed hidden. I'm planning on an Everglades run soon and hope to see a few big ones then. As for saltwater, I'm going to try the Dunedin causeway to caladesi then Honeymoon island run this weekend, and if the water is calm enough, I'll push to Anclote key. I'm Pretty excited about it, but I know it's going to be hot, muggy and buggy :)

Great video! Nice work. Watched whole video. Already a subscriber. I was just down in Florida and was at Honeymoon Island. You should consider making a video a at Silver Springs State Park. I did the full canoe down to Ray Wayside Park. Just almost 6 miles but there's monkeys, alligators, manatee etc. I have a video coming soon from Lettuce Lake Park in Tampa (Hillsborough River). It's a Florida Edition of Two Feet Outdoors.

I'll be looking out for your video, Silver Springs is definitely on the list for me too! Did you get to see the monkeys? Some people get to, some not. I check out your page often and hope mine takes off like yours did, when you first messaged me you had like 600 subscribers, and look at you now over 5k! Pretty impressive leap. Keep up the good videos, maybe we can meet up sometime for a crazy adventure

@sailingslowmotion yes, def saw several monkeys and got great pics and videos. I was enjoying that trip with my 2 sons and wasn't recording anything for RU-vid. A memory with my boys, I'll never forget
