I asked the Lord for my mate and I even told him I wanted a godly man etc. In no time, I met him and didn't know it. My mom told me he was interested in me. I said I didn't think so. But in the end, he was and in four month we were married. We have been married for 47 years! God answered all my requests. :). I couldn't ask for a better man.
I love story of Derek Prince. God showed him his wife, who was older than him. And he chose to obey the Lord and love came. And they had a very good marriage which lasted for 30 years, till she passed away. And then God have him another woman who was younger than him. Derek’s obedience to God lead to having good marriages.
Hi I also love that story, because he was an great example of 1 Samuel 16:7, he married a woman first wife 25 years older than him, but was lead by God to do so!! What a great example.

Physically Lydia didn’t have what most men want in a woman, and so many men end up in bad marriages because they focused on the physical attributes only. Lydia was a beautiful lady, the prism that most men look at women through leads them to miss a good match and pick one that isn’t a good match and often leads to divorce and more brokennesses not only in them, but in their children.

I was born in Minnesota, but I'm living in Brazil. I confirm what you are saying about discernment. Fifty years ago I met my husband, and I had not been planning on marriage and kids (I wanted to devote my life to my career as a professional), but God showed me this special person. We have very different backgrounds, but the same values and spiritual views. God led us to marry 46 years ago, and then gave us three wonderful children. We have never doubted that we were led to each other. Currently, I am going through a painful period since my dear husband has Alzheimer's, and it's difficult to think of not having him with me here on earth. But it's been the Lord's leading and presence with us the whole time!! Praise Him for leading me into marriage and motherhood!!!

I made a list and asked God everything concerning character, hobbies, and lifestyle, appearance I asked nothing cause I'm not particularly limited to that, I see beauty in everyone, I then met my fiance but before meeting him Ive met some guys that had nothing to do with me and my lifestyle and hobbies and goals, then I met my fiance who is my male version, slightly different in some ways, but most of times we are the same and think the same, and he is very handsome for me in my eyes so I'm very thankful we are getting married this year in September by God's grace 🙏🏽 thank you Jesus 💞

What a timely word. 😮 I met someone recently and we are super compatible and both love the Lord and evangelize on the street. We agreed that we are both amazing lol. But the Lord told him “don’t marry her.” This came as a shock to both of us and I have to admit it has been an absolute struggle 😢. HOWEVER, when we say “yes” to the Lord that comes at a price and He ultimately knows our hearts and the future. His ways are higher than our ways and so are His thoughts. I completely agree with you. I recently discussed the same scripture verse on my TikTok page two weeks ago. We should allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, rather than our own desires (Proverbs 3:5-6). Ask God if this person is the right one for you. He will communicate the answer either audibly or through a dream. Please do not ignore any warning signs, no matter what. We often rely too much on our own understanding, and this could lead to regret. Your single life is an opportunity to draw closer to God and prepare for marriage. Please be wise!

I need to heat this. I have received prophetic word twice in a year about my future spouse is on its way. It is a trusted accurate person who gave me this. A friendship that looked like it was heading to a relationship came to a sudden end. No warning. After that episode I have no idea how to pray for my future spouse any more. I trust the word given to me but it is hard now. I just tell God I don't know what to pray for or just say thank you for my future spouse
If it was from the Lord, it will happen. Do not worry about this. I had a similar situation. Sometimes, what we think would be the right person is not, or they can change their mind perhaps, but God has it in his hands nevertheless. That's why He gave you those words- so that you can hold on to them!
