Not only have I not seen it, but this is quite the clever and relatively straightforward mod to do... What I found even more clever was ModsvilleUSA's routing the wiring under the legs of that chip.. I've never seen anyone do that and I thought it was pretty cool! I'd totally have mod work done by him! :)
Not only I've seen this mod, but I've done it myself! :P I replaced the PAL BIOS on my SCPH-5502 to a USA NTSC BIOS (because I hate 50hz and it was just easy to do). It works out great. I thought of using no$cash initially but I can run it from the parallel port using my xplorer fx cart anyway. I removed the original IC using chipquick SMD removal rather than hot air though, it's just easier and faster (and safer).
How do pal games look on the new bios? Does it try and force 60hz is the pal game centered correctly? Does nocash do a better job at pal conversion if at all?
@@thegreatjonzini PAL games still run at 50hz, since the game enforces the refresh rate. You also need a DFO mod or a ps1digital to get accurate refresh rates when going 60hz on a PAL console.
Hey Really nice work I got psone japanese shall i order US bios and Japanaese Mayumi 4 from Wills console ? Or i have to order US bios and US mayumi 4 Im confused 😂
have you ever seen a mod where it is attached to a led and a toggle switch and would blink when scanning for if real or fake and you would flick the switch while it blinking to bipass it, my old ps1 was modded in that way don't know anything about ti other then my dad paid some guy the day he bought it and it came home modded like that and it no longer works, and I paid someone to fix it and they removed the modchip
