Is he saying that when a person is born, it is already determined when they will die? I thought this thinking was against the Buddha's teachings. What would be the point of present-moment volitional action if everything is pre-determined anyway?

Ajahn making a remark on wearing masks - as if taking care of one's health is not in line with the Buddha's teaching.

You don't seem to understand. Ajahn often talks about it, that wearing a mask is not protective against viruses (Danish, German and British studies verify it) It is actually unhealthy to wear a mask.. A mask keeps the CO2 that you breath out and then you inhale it again. That is dangerous to your health. Before 2019 nobody except medical staff was wearing masks.
