Your work is very nice. But mostly your voice is lovely and soothing and very easy to hear, while you describe the techniques you are demonstrating. I will be listening to more of your videos
I just started my watercolor journey (having come from both stained glass & card making disciplines) and found you today. I landed on this video b/c I absolutely adore elephants and own several fine art pieces, one of which is an enormous 6x4' acrylic over my dining room table. After perusing your channel I realized I'd lost an hour (lol) staring at your beautiful work. On a lark I clicked your skillshare link and was shocked to find it still active! I signed up and found your lessons and will likely spend the next several weeks drooling over your aesthetic (lol) and trying to learn. I love art and have always-always-always felt the need to busy my hands creating in some way or other. It's kept me both sane, and broke (lol!) Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your generosity of spirit in sharing your knowledge. I will always "thumb up" a video of yours and will try to comment as I watch in an attempt to help you monetize your channel (although I don't know how new a video must be for that to be of any help). ...... p.s. I LOVE the "blooper reel" at the end!
I look forward to seeing your giraffe painting using a cling film geometric shape background - I have already done this using acrylic paint and it was very successful.
Louise! You are just adorable. I love your demos and learn so much about different techniques from you. I think you are amazingly talented. Your bloopers make me laugh out loud. So glad to see you being just like us. Can’t wait to see more.
Loving the bloopers! We all need a good laugh these days,Thank you for including them. Makes me feel better about my audio do-overs...do-overs and more do-overs. LOL
I just came across one of your videos yesterday and am wowed by your talent. The video is the one where you showed how to stretch the watercolor paper and there was a fire going on behind your house. I started out as an acrylic painter then switched to oils. Now I want to experiment with watercolor paints so I ordered some materials. I had no idea that the paper is supposed to be wet and stretched before starting a painting. I've watched a few other watercolor artists and they didn't mention doing this but I'm glad I watched your video. I will most definitely stretch my paper. I know that paper will buckle when it's wet and there's no getting it back to its original form. You are such a talented artist. Your sketches are amazing and your watercolors just amaze me. I'm not fond of paintings of flowers but yours are really beautiful. I especially love the birds. I live in a wooded area and have a couple of bird feeders that attract many types of birds. I take photos of them when I can so I might be painting them soon. I love the way your paintings look so clean and neat. The varying shades of color go together so beautifully. Thank you for sharing!!!!!!
I love you !! You are so funny, lovely and absolutely incredibly informative....I have learned so much from you and also laughed!! You are great!! hugs J
Working with plastic wrap is a blast. You can use your fingers to twist it into spirals, circles, leave it as triangles, pull it into straight streaks. So fun. Good video.
I for 1 am so glad you shower with us today!!! Its beautiful knowing you are as human as I am......You just happen to be am amazing artist!!! Thank you for showing us the human side too......
Love your videos! Just discovered them a few days ago... Had a laugh at the end of this one. ! Ive learnt alot so far from these videos and although I am no beginner with oils and acrylics, watercolour is a new thing for me.
You are a splendid artist. I am off to subscribe to Skillshare and Patreon. I feel like I have hit the jackpot by finding your lovely videos. You're exactly the person to help me! Thank you!
I absolutely love your videos and your out takes are brilliant 😁. They really do make me giggle and I look forward to watching them at the end of every video. 😃😂 xx
I just joined skillshare and I am painting your succelent. Its turning out fantastick! I lalso follow you on Patreon . Your classes are ecellent and Im learning so much!
I really dread doing backgrounds! Many times after finishing a watercolor painting I am pleased with, I have hated the way the background looked and have painted the same subject over again with a white background. I still try them occasionally with some success. I have seen the plastic wrap technique but it looked too “ crafty” as opposed to artful. Yours is beautiful!! I will definitely be trying it! Love the elephant!!
i keep watching your videos, hoping that some of your incredible talent will reach through the screen and infect my art-challenged soul. one of these days, hopefully. in the interim, i just signed up for Skillshare using your link. my partner is a professional animator, and he was impressed with the range of classes in that field. meanwhile, i just want to stop being afraid of my watercolors.
Whoo~ do I EVER struggle with backgrounds! They terrify me too, and I fret over spoiling a painting that I’ve spent a lot of time on, and as a result, don’t ‘take the plunge’; leaving the background white, or doing something ‘just because’ which leaves me underwhelmed. I think confidence with backgrounds will have to be acquired, and I can’t overlook that artists, like you Louise - have had a few more years of practice over me. However, watching how this technique works, and practicing with it a couple of times has given me a kick start to try it on my next painting of a cardinal. I think with the proper colors- and that is KEY- it could be lovely, and effective. Thanks Louise!
I'm more fearful of trying to paint those beautiful giraffes, elephant, bird... than trying to do a background 😂 I think the background may be the only thing I could paint. Your work is absolutely beautiful.
Very striking and creative way to use this plastic wrap technique. I've always hated painting backgrounds too. Your elephant painting is wonderful!!! Thank you!
Thanks you I really appreciate you because I love you too learn more about this type of painting I tried it at a school but their time did permit it but we tried it I really appreciate you doing this.
Wow mind blowingingly beautiful. I’m currently painting a picture for my Brother & Sister in Law and this clingfilm technique will be a perfect background thanks for the instruction. The outtakes are hilarious thanks for those too.
