A quick PAINTING HACK for Mandala rocks Beginners

Mandalas are intimidating... especially as a beginner. I decided I need a little help... I created a fun hack to help give me a good starting point so I could attempt a dotted mandala stone painting.
I'm happy to say, I think it was successful. Far from perfect but for those just getting started, I think it is fantastic!

Exactly! I think dot mandalas are for a specific kind of artist. You either decide you love them and want to explore them more or it isn't your cup of tea... no need to go shopping before finding out ;) Thanks for watching!!

Dollar stores in the baking section have them in my area for approx $4 CAD.....I love using mine and it totally turns smoothly and gently.

I made an inexpensive and useful turntable using a ball bearing unit and a 4 inch cork mat from my local hardware store. I just hot glued them together with the cork side up to provide traction. Thanks for the stencil and pencil ideas!

The lazy susans are at Walmart kitchen area. I've even seen a look alike at dollar store. My name is Rosie I'm in San Diego California 😂😂😍

You can use a small manual pottery table instead of lazy susan

Amazon has miniature lazy Susan's! I have one in my cart right now. It'll make rock painting so much easier!

These are awesome. Just a suggestion- if you paint your rock white first your design pop more. I want to try your trick for making your stencil. Keep up the great work.!!!😀😃🤗👍👍👍

So much easier to draw freehand, to make your dots just use the end of your brushes,they come in all sizes

No I still make them! I try to post at least a couple times a month. Summer break with the kiddos home is always a bit more hectic :)

For rock painting what paints are used to be able to put outside to decorate your garden, steps etc.

It is more about sealing them if you are going to put them outside. Just make sure to build up a good seal on BOTH sides of your rock. Find something that says UV protecting as well. If they are going to be placed somewhere that is full sun and/or buried in snow from time to time I would freshen up the clear coat from time to time as well. rockpainting101.com/best-sealer-painted-rocks/

Probably a silly question, Can you paint any kind of rock? I tried on a smooth one- the paint just sort of slid off the rock. Any tips? I searched the channel but did not find this topic

If it has a coating on it you will have issues. Some of the rocks from dollar stores are like this. You can boil them to remove the wax coating. Just make sure it’s not in your nice pot 😉

Get some 99 cent paper plates at Walmart or a plastic paint pallette at the dollar store please!!!!!
