@@atilasegundo3157 Simon Sinek has some good insight but he doesn't consider that some people really aren't good at connecting with others for one reason or another. He has nothing to say to them, nothing but to label them as "toxic" or "assholes".

@@pumaconcolor2855 First part, agreed. Second and beyond... come on, he clearly isn't narrow minded to THIS extent. Label as toxic or asshole? Does he truly doesn't consider the "sigma males" ( lone wolves ) and/or those simply courageous and sincere to the point every coward and liar can't relate, therefore stays way (which are the majority of people in the world by the way...)? Those two types have a extremely challenging time in finding potential true friends.

@@pumaconcolor2855 I presented two types though. Those two are the ones I can think off from the non-toxic types that struggle in finding true friendship. The toxic types are well known (most of them, at least) and they weren't part my point, so I didn't list them.

I'm rarely calling, because I don't like calling, but I asked these type of question when I was young about 20 maybe via chat, because that was my preffered way to communicate back in the days and I got this type of answers and it felt good, but now, I hardly get an answer on anything.. I don't think that I changed that much, but maybe this is the whole point, I don't changed that much, but my friends are and they needs changed too.. so they still like me, because of the history we have, but not for the present me..

Looks like other people have yet to realize your value...Uh-oh. That might mean you have a particularly self serving why dude. Or not. I doubt Simon's still doing this for people at the $100 price point but there are plenty of folks well studied in his frameworks that who's why may involve helping you find your why. Just google "find my why"

I have no friends, I believe (not sure) I hate humans, I've had a hell of a past, I am 16. I believe only I can and must know what to do next. I go alone. What would you guys say? The trouble is very great finding meaning in this universe and knowing what you want and knowing yourself is the hardest task there is. You do have people like that you just don't know it. Where are they? Right here and we want you to be happy and be proud of yourself! I got a rare disease several years ago and I no longer have any friends. I can’t be outside and I’m allergic to most food. No one wants me around anymore so this doesn’t work for me at all, sadly.

So here's some veteran advice on this: You are told, you should think about a friend, that would answer your call at 3.00am. Then you are told, you should call this friend and ask him "Why are we friends?" This does not actually mean, you should could your friend at 3.00am and ask him "WHY ARE WE FRIENDS!?" Apparently this is called a "non sequitur" ... The things you learn when you call a philosopher during the night ^.^ ...

@@judyd.8338 I wouldn't count on that... There are no easy answers in life. Only anecdotal ideas based upon personal experience. And most of the time I suspect that the answer you will get will be half-baked at best. Like, you were there for me through my 'name your personal life tragedy/challenge/change/transition/whatever'. Life is rarely deeper than that.

@@wisamrohilina3006 There's a saying for this "what other people think about you is none of your business". I wouldn't even think about asking my friends "why are we friends"? I'm sure the first thought that would come to them would be "all these years and you need to ask this"?, "is there something wrong with our friendship"? This comes down to a self-confidence/self-esteem issue. If a person needs to squeeze out of their friends the 'why' of why they are your friends, a person needs to seek a higher level of guidance in their life.

I only have 2 real friends, and all I know about them is that they have a heart, they will cheer me up when I'm feeling shit and the most important thing is even when we don't talk for a year they will still be there. No I don't have friends I have family.

The few friends I thought about would, most likely, either not pick up the phone or be angry that I called them at 3 o'clock in the morning. There were only two that I think that might pickup the phone, either because they wouldn't be sleeping or because they'd be worried. My question is, can this be done at another time, or does it HAVE to be specifically done in the middle of the night? Thanks for the amazing video as always.

Not trying to be "that guy" here....but is there a way to do this for people without friends? Serious question. I've been trying to find a 'why', a reason to live, a meaning to my life, for years, but no luck yet. If I wanted to do this, I'd first have to make several friends and then spend years really doing great in those relationships, being a good friend to them, too, before I could ask them what it is about me they are around me for. I appreciate the insights that could be gained in such a line of questioning with people who have chosen to be close to you, honestly, just don't have those people. Is there really no way to find the answer without these relationships? If this is the way to find your 'why', I may very well never be in a position to find it. I sincerely don't have friends that are in my life or really any other people. I talk with my girlfriend a bit and my cats, that's literally it. Is there no way I could find it on my own?
