Hey guys!! I hope you enjoy a lil ramble and chat about the crazy things I've been getting up to the last few weeks of my gap year, living in London on my own! From meeting George Ezra, to actually surviving off my horrendous cooking skillz, to feeling a little low at points, this is just a very real catch up. 🌟 I hope everything is going amazingly in your life at the moment - and if it's not, that really is okay. Your 'have a go' mentality really changed my life! I didn't realise how constrained I had been by fear of judgement or awkwardness until I finally comitted to saying Yes!! It's been so so so rewarding, so thank you for always advocating it . (Also- if anyone else needs a little help putting themself out there. Read Shonda Rhime's Year of Yes. It's fantastic!)

I just moved to Seoul for college and I can relate so much to what you said about cities and being alone. When there’s so many people around you, it feels like everyone is involved with their own thing. No ones really gonna come up to you and strike up a conversation. Making friends is not as easy as it would be in a more familiar situation. You really have to put yourself out there if you don’t want to be lonely for an extended period of time and it’s such an important lesson to learn, especially for someone as introverted as me. It’s hard but I’m getting there. Putting myself out of my social comfort zone has allowed me to make so many great friends so far so it’s definitely worth it

I love your videos because they’ve recently normalised ‘failure’ (even though the word is stupid). It just proves that things like rejection from Oxford happen to us all for a reason. You wouldn’t have accomplished what you have. Sure, millions have gone to university but how many at your age can say they’ve travelled alone around Europe? Very few! Thank you for this motivation and I love your videos! 💓

I agree with you. Also, there are many people who go to school and do GCSE/A - Levels but only a small fraction of them are study tubers( people like Jade). Also regarding the rejection from Oxford, I think it is good that she good rejected(not being rude to Jade) because it allowed her to share her feeling about how she felt and how she coped with the situation, and in turn, people watching the video who watches it because they have had a rejection from Oxford(or any other uni, for tht matter) would know how to cope with the situation.

I love to see someone going through the transition into adulthood who is so honest about everything. No one talks about how the little things are the scariest sometimes! The roommate oreo story was very cute and so brave haha

You literally inspire me so much, I'm going through a hard time right now and watching your videos really gives me hope for the future. jade only 18 days until I receive my motivated t-shirt. I remember when it was 54 days and now it seems so close😀 my mum brought it at exactly 6pm when they first came out and she came me the note that has literally kept me going through mocks. thank you jade. the line 'all the motivation you needs lies right there in front of you remains in my head everyday and has brought me through the toughest times of procrastination. I'll never be able to express to you how much you've changed my life😙

as a londoner myself i completely get how the city can be daunting and isolating, and what helps me is definitely having favourite areas, like i love camden and the south bank and i go there if i have nothing to do. sometimes i forget how important it is to connect to the city because it gets lonely very quickly and it was so interesting to see a (slightly) outside perspective from this video! i love you jade and you always make such intelligent points about things so it was great to watch such a chill video of yours xx

love what you said about leaving your comfort zone! Since I started uni I've been going to different events and different places on my own and it's been amazing - I feel so much more confident in myself and ability to talk to people. I can go where I want whenever I want and it's so freeing I love it so much. Plus it allows me to fully immerse myself in whatever I'm doing and I feel like I get so much out of where I am and what I'm doing. Of course I love doing things with other people but I've learnt how to enjoy being on my own and it's allowed me to grow so much as a person. So I definitely recommend leaving your comfort zone to everyone!!

Jade, you are so inspiring. I love sitting down to watch your videos like this, you have one of the nicest voices ever?! The way you are all for your own (and others) self growth is so humbling and hearing about you putting yourself out there to socialise has made me realise that this is probably why I am not enjoying uni life and city life that much. Next year, I will be moving to a different city for uni (I'm on a foundation year this year!) but I hope that by then I will be more invested in bettering myself and becoming the best version of me by putting myself out of my comfort zone. I love the way you approach life. As a 20 years old young lady I can only feel inspired by this video. I know exactly what you were talking about when you said to "get comfortable in the uncomfortable", to get out of our comfort zone because even when we're content with what we have and what's around us, there's still a world of opportunities for us. Sometimes all we really need to do is change our routines and try something new.

Grabbed a coffee & completely chilled while watching this - thank you for your videos Jade! Guess I feel some parallels with your life as am also someone who really cares about studying & travelling (plus the added fact that George Ezra is the love of my life!) and totally agree about the comfort zone thing. I'm currently in my third year of uni and am studying abroad in NYC and it really took me pushing myself at the start to ensure that I made the most of it and met people but know it was totally for the best!! Am now super excited to travel around Canada next year too, largely inspired by your videos, and am going to make sure I do the same in hostels :) Hope you have a great weekend x

Hi Jade, I really love what you said about everyone here being somewhat like-minded, and I wanted to tell you a little about who I am and why I'm here. I'm 29 years old and from the US and I've already finished all my schooling, so I'm probably not your usual demographic! But I find your message and approach to life really inspiring and I really love getting to come along on your journey into adulthood. I loved school and learning and actually studied molecular biology at university, so we have that passion in common. But I just wanted you to know that you're reaching a broader type of audience than maybe you realize and you should be really, really proud of that. My boyfriend was telling me a story today about his dad being on the tube once and it broke down. After about 5 minutes of it not moving a couple people started talking and then after 10 mins everyone on the tube was chatting away. Then as soon as it started moving again everyone stopped talking and went back to reading/ on their phone. You're so right about everyone being in a trance-It's crazy that in a city so big you can feel so alone. Loved the vid!
