The name "Switch 2" is really starting to get on my nerves. It's bland, unoriginal, and may not be a good business decision for Nintendo as a company. #NintendoSwitch #Switch2 #NintendoSwitch2
It makes perfect sense to not call it another Switch, but I think Nintendo should keep the concept of a console that switches from home to handheld since thats what made it so popular in the first place.
Why would you want that? Then how is Nintendo supposed to re-sell you the same games AGAIN with a "Deluxe" name? That's their main market now; re-selling you the same thing over and over and over and over! Backwards compatibility would really hurt their profit margins, so they'll NEVER do that again.
@JamesR624 backwards compatibility has been on every console that can physically do it. Also, the whole deluxe switch games thing was mostly because nobody bought them on the WiiU. Because nobody bought a WiiU. Backwards compatibility also means that the new console already has a good game lineup from launch.
@@megarayquaza2240 What are you talking about? The SNES, N64, Gamecube, and Switch all do NOT have that. You might be thinking of the Gameboy and DS but that's an exception, not the rule for Nintendo. Overall, you're probably thinking of Sony, NOT Nintendo.
@JamesR624 You missed the part where I said, "That can physically do it." No shit the cartridge consoles aren't backward compatible with disc consoles.
Finally someone who did research. But yeah a reiteration of the Switch wouldn’t be good for sales. Also Nintendo fans are hoping for it to be real having unrealistic expectations like “IT’S GONNA BE 60 FPS AND 4K, MAGNETIC JOY CONS” and then when it actually releases it’s gonna be a slightly more powerful switch and then everyone is gonna get mad.
Well, we gotta call it something. We don't have a codename for it, and "The successor to the Nintendo Switch" is too much of a mouthful. So what else are people supposed to call it?
Strongly agree with you!! My assumptions are that people are just calling the next console “Switch 2” because it’ll be having some similarities to the current Switch while still being vastly different, but I still hope that’s not their complete confirmation. I’d definitely name the next console something different original, it’ll really help the sales.
This is why I think that for the next console, they're gonna ditch the name "Switch" and call it something else. I think they will definitely keep the hybrid gimmick as that is working really well for them right now, and they are most likely saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but if they decided to include the name "Switch" then it could cause name confusion (similar to the Wii U) and cause the console to fail. Either way, I am excited to see what Nintendo has in store for their next console, and I think it's gonna be something really good!
God, I hope they don't make a switch 2. I want a new handheld like the 3ds or just home console. I feel as if as soon as this "switch 2" comes out. Which I hope it won't by the way. There will be so many ports like smash bros ultimate deluxe, or super paper mario deluxe, or God forbid MORE NEW SUPER MARIO BROS GAMES. If it's a new home console or standalone handheld, then they could make a new gimmick that actually affects gameplay like the wii u gamepad or the wiimote or the 3d slider, (OK maybe not the last one) but still. I should have a gimmick that makes the console interesting so new video games could come out instead of ports. If the gimmick is well made then people will buy the console. Simple. (Also new metroid maybe) (or paper mario)
yeah, switch just gets away with having remakes because it’s popular, and since they do so well nintendo will just keep dropping more and more for older and older games (like mario vs donkey kong)
Yo, first of all the switch 2 is a placeholder name as nobody knows the real name of it. Second, those sales things you discussed were all most likely big coincidences part of one really big coincidence. Even if this applied to the next console the sales for the switch were so good, it would not be devastating.
What is with the Mario kart games? Mario kart 8 sold a lot less than Mario kart 8 deluxe, so with that the next mario kart game should be mario kart 8 deluxe premium
Well, technically not. Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U sold around 9 million units, and the Wii U itself sold about 13 million. MK8DX sold 60 million and the Switch has sold about 140 million units. Meaning that 2 out 3 Wii U owners have Mario Kart 8, but only 1 in 3 Switch owners have Mario Kart 8 DX. So it sold proportionality better on the Wii U than it has on the Switch.
Yeah i agree that its overuned and heres the thing i don't it to just be just better graphics and more power i want the next console to have more of an identity (power and graphics are not out of the question but it shouldn't be completely) like even GameXplain is relelising it, recently they have made videos that Nintendo/iwata was right and how other companys that focus on power and graphics aren't on a good place right now but Nintendo is
Nice. I have a modded one as well, but as of right now, I don't think it's really worth it to do so. There's not very many homebrew applications and neat stuff you can do. But if you want to play Minecraft Conslle Edition or in-game mods, it's pretty good at doing that.
I mean the GameCube wasn't a "successor" to the N64 and still nearly flopped, i think this is a Nintendo syndrome, where every generation is an up and down. Or it's just the way it goes when you seem to be too big to fail, like when Sony released the ps3 after the massive success of the ps2, or when Microsoft released the Xbox one after the massive success of the 360...
Thats because people thought "why would you want to change to a ps3 when the ps2 was already a masterpiece." and thats why the ps3 did not sell as well as the ps2. People were just happy enough with the ps2. Same logic to xbox 360. Thats just my theory at least. And for the record the gamecube sold poorly because it competed with the ps2 which was massively better.
I would like the successor to the Nintendo Switch to come out quickly because maybe when Nintendo abandons this console, it will finally be possible to jailbreak the Nintendo Switch OLED without a chip, or the chip will become cheaper because it is too expensive. I have a Nintendo Switch OLED, and I would like to mod it because the games are too expensive, and I would like to play Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition, which, let's be honest, is better than Bedrock Edition.
Next time try keeping your negative comments to yourself?! Makes the world more peaceful, you wouldn't like it if you spent ages on a video just for some random mf to come and say "HaHaH ThIs is So AwFuL"
