I have been asked to repair one of these, three sections of front carvings missing also the chime on the back panel. just cleaning it, slowly, some one in the past used an oil that gunged up, also put on the gear wheels, with the wood sides, difficult to clean, do not want to get cleaner/solvent on the wood. brass sides, easy, dunk in a cleaner. escapment extention wire was broken, not sure if origonal, very diffiult to align, working to within 0.5mm. would go for a couple of days then stop. then, now stops within minutes, without anything being done. Not sure about escapment, Not sure if origonal. once I get time section working, will move on to the cuckoo section, some pins missing to hold bits in place, two screws missing holding the bellows down, one bellow slight split. How far do you go to restore a clock like this.
