Visit Mitosaya, a botanical distillery in Japan that was set up by Hiroshi Eguchi, a former indie bookstore owner. Hiroshi left his art-book publishing career to create his own line of botanical brandy, using classic Japanese ingredients like yuzu and persimmon.
In Singapore, Chef Manogren Thevar plugs the gap for Indian-styled tapas by serving up creative interpretations with small sharing plates. He uses an impressive volley of techniques to replace slow cooking methods traditionally used in Indian cuisine, with spices as their focus.
And visit a visually-striking house that takes on architectonic play of a central ellipse volume with three radiating boxes including a suspended pool. Besides offering 180-degree views, the house boasts of a sanctum, a 12-metre high white space, initially conceptualised as an art gallery.
