Moving into a home whether you’re purchasing or renting comes with a new set of responsibilities. Those responsibilities fall on whomever signed the purchase agreement or the lease agreement. Your agent’s job is to find a home for you, not to manage the property and all of your issues after you move in. Educate yourself on what’s to be expected BEFORE jumping into anything by thoroughly reading your lease/purchase agreement and asking questions. Ignorance IS NOT bliss when you sign a contract of any type.
Your agent or apartment locator cannot fight your battles for you AFTER you close/move in. Moving into a new home comes with responsibilities and accountability. Establish a positive rapport and build a trusted relationship with your landlord, whether it’s a property management company or the homeowner. It’s all about trust, communication and accountability. Effective communication is KEY.
