two twisted crowns deserves a chance! i think i struggled with the start a little, but it definitely picks up action soon. i found the *ending* especially to be worth it. pick it up later ;)
Wait...in so sad Two Twisted Crowns was not a thing for you. I read One Dark Window off your rec...and loved it. I think the 2nd is sooo good. I hope you come back to it. But I'm glad you found things that made you happy.
❤ Im on book 3 of Court so Cruel and Lovely, i love it!!! I rarely read contemporary but when i do i have a handful of authors i read. Carian Cole is my favorite and she just released a new book like 3 days ago, its getting 5 stars all over but ive read everything shes wriiten. Also i loved Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandie Steiner, just crazy good and then Kylie Scotts Stagedive series, its older but its so much fun. Happy Reading!!!
I felt that way about one dark window but found the sequel made the series but it takes a while, I didn’t feel into it until the 3/4 mark. Wait until the mood hits then give it another bash 😊
I definitely recommend returning to Two Twisted Crowns! It was, IMO, better than One Dark Window 🥰 you have convinced me to pick up Love Redesigned, I’ve been eyeing it lately and just haven’t grabbed it haha 💖
I really want to read the gold rush ranch series, but as someone who is an avid rider and is directly involved with racehorses (I take them off the track and retrain for myself or to sell), I’m worried that if there are any inaccuracies it will ruin the book for me! So I definitely have to be in the right frame of mind to read that. And Empire of Storms. Omg. I get goosebumps and tear up just thinking about this book. I cried SO HARD reading this book. I never in a million years thought I’d cry that hard at a book of all things, but WOW. All that being said I think it’s one of my favorites in the series (tied with heir of fire and kingdom of ash). Honestly that whole series is so good, just such on a different level from any other series I’ve read. Literally God Tier. I could go on and on about it but I’ll stop before this becomes even more of a diatribe 😂
I loved Two Twisted Crowns! But there was def a pacing issue in the beginning because we’re suddenly in the POV of someone who wasn’t shown as being interesting or a major player in the first book. It’s a slower book overall though…I had a good time reading 50 pages a day, kinda like when I read A Darker Shade of Magic. Ive been wanting to slow down and spend more time with carefully chosen books so I’m into that lol.
The Front Runner is the only Elsie Silver I’ve ever tried and I was not a fan which was weird to me cuz everyone raves about her books-good to know it may just be an outlier! Maybe I’ll give her other stuff a try, thanks Rachel! 💜
I felt the same way reading two twisted crowns. I did finally finish it. But I think one dark window was so much better. There were great moments in two twisted crowns, but it just wasn’t enough for me.
