Hey, Pitmaster! The trike in the Video is an ICE VTX. It's really designed to be a fast/racing trike, but it works pretty good for sightseeing, too. Some of the brands I'd recommend would be ICE and Catrike. There are a few others, such as Terra Trike and Azub, that you could look at also.

Yes, there are two or three block that people taxi down to get to the airport. Not sure what the speed limit is, but I've never seen anyone going faster than about 15 mph.

Hi Wright. There are a number of cool aircraft styled mailboxes in that neighborhood! That Beech is amazing! Looks like a mini DC-3.

@@bikestrikesrazors The Beech 18 is one of those long term winners, like the C-47, DC-6, Lockheed Models 10 and 12 and many others. Jets are cool but I've been drawn to props since I was a boy in the '50s. OH....I'm thinking of getting a trike from the VA due to my multiple myeloma and the resultant chronic lower back pain. Lots of paperwork and roadblocks involved but I think I can do it. And I'm no stranger to bikes, having been in the bike business from the fall of '72 to the early 1980s. Had a Masi Gran Criterium; Columbus tubes, all Campy Record, Teledyne BB spindle and Zeus titanium body alloy cog freewheel. It was as smooth as the wind. I was seriously into bikes and miss them terribly, so a good recumbent makes sense.

@@wrightflyer7855 Wow, '72 to the early 80's was the golden age for the California Masi brand. I've talked to a number of folks that have gotten their trikes from the VA, so it can be done! I can see how there'd be a lot of paperwork. If I was ever able to buy a plane, it would be something like that Beech. They're just timeless.

@@bikestrikesrazors My Masi was one of the last to come out of Italy. The shop in which I was service manager was owned by Mel Pinto, the importer. I paid $525 for it in the box at another of his stores on M street in Georgetown D.C. As for the Beech 18, I guess you've watched some of Matt Younkin's aerobatic routines. The guy is obviously a natural.

Yep, parallel to the first large residential street, in fact I was wondering yesterday if anyone might have just landed on the street by mistake. It's hard to tell the difference between those streets and a runway. There's no organized air traffic control- you just have to get on your radio at the airport's specific frequency and announce to nearby air traffic that you're there and what you're up to. At night, if you click your radio's transmitter three times, it turns on all the airport runway lights. Wild stuff.

I actually went to see an old B-17 that was still flying when it stopped at a local Air Force base and they had old WW2 pilots there, both American and German. They were all talking and laughing together. The B-17 pilot said they were terrified of the German fighter pilots and the Americans felt like "sitting ducks" in the B-17, while the German fighter pilot said they were all terrified of attacking the B-17, with all it's guns. I guess everyone was terrified!

I can assure you that this neighborhood is in no way typical of how a normal American lives!

It's really expensive unless you have a family member who is a pilot for a company who provide training to the sons or daughters of the pilots but that's for commercial tho if your talking about GA you can get a ppl (private pilot license) and that costs quite a bit and the prices you'll have to pay for maintenance and stuff trust me it's probs not worth since the houses are quite expensive to

Pilots need to use the radio to let others in the area know they're approaching, landing or taking off, but aside from that, no people on the ground directing traffic.

Actually I think I have it now.. It's a "twin beech" aka Beechcraft model 18 or maybe a USAF one like the c-45H Expeditor.

Hey, Jarcliffe! Yep, it's an old Beechcraft 18, made sometime between 1937 and 1969. Very cool plane!
