A residential area built on a lush green slope/Fujimicho & Miharucho, Yokosuka (Kanagawa Prefecture)
This is the 5th installment of the Heavenly Residential Area, Yokosuka edition. This time, we will walk from Fujimi-cho to Miharu-cho, which is considered to be the southernmost residential area in Yokosuka's heavenly world formed by the Showa period.
In the military city of Yokosuka, a military port town centered around Otaki-cho near the military port at the bottom of the hill, and military-related residential areas were formed around the hilltop town. After the war, residential areas on hills were developed as bedroom towns in Tokyo and Yokohama. Especially around the period of rapid economic growth, residential areas were built in places where cars could not enter and only accessible by steep slopes. was given. Residential areas on these slopes have advantages such as lush greenery, wonderful views, and a cool environment in the summer. An empty house stands out. However, I think that the residential area built on the steep valley topography of Yokosuka is a very attractive space that cannot be experienced in many places.
