The film is about an education cum after-school activity center, Happy Children's Library, positioned in Seem village, Nainital, Uttarakhand. It focuses on non-academic learning using story books as primary tools besides group activities for the holistic growth of the children.
It is an initiative by a lovely retired couple, Jaya and Atul Shah. They did not just move to the mountains from an urban city post-retirement and build an admirable nest for themselves but rather seeded something impactful which would yield fruits for many years to come. The library is a lifestyle they have developed which exhibits their mindful and responsible way of living.
It is not just limited to the rural areas or villages but something every child has a right to receive. These approaches can be practiced by the faculty, parents, and guardians who want to accommodate such facilitating to their children.
Such initiatives and approaches work as role models to many other organizations or individuals who want to work in the education sector. In Mrs. Jaya's words, "Books are a very good medium to reach a child, whether the child’s heart or mind and then to be able to understand where the child is and how to take him further whether it is reading writing comprehension or even language".
