A Retro Hockey Game Like No Other! 

When I grew up (in the NW corner of Montana) there were no video games, our Hockey games had these rods that you pushed & pulled to slide along the ice and you twisted the rod to spin the players to hit the puck. But when I was 11 my mom got me Phil & Tony Esposito's Action Hockey, that was played with magnets (you'll have to Google it, it's hard to describe). It was awesome, played that thing for years, gave it to the neighbor when he broke both his legs. But, to this day, still my favorite hockey game. Gonna pick this one up, love the visuals and win or die premise. Nice chill video as usual !!

Looks like a lot of fun! Beyond the classic hockey games, the gameplay also immediately reminded me of the flash game "Crunchball 3000", which I was insanely addicted to when it came out in 2009.

Can't beat those early EA NHL 16 bit games! Loved the Blackhawks as a kid with Stu "The Grim Reaper" Grimson. Might have to pick up this game. Great work as always!

Great Video, congrats on the review. Being from the south, there were no local hockey teams, so the only thing we knew about them were in the games. We loved NHL for Genesis though. Our pastimes as kids were full contact football after school!! Hope you do more reviews

It looks a lot like NES Ice Hockey but with a lot of upgrades and a grim plot haha. Looks fun though. I'm in the UK and pro ice hockey is a minor sport here. I go to a lot of Sheffield Steelers games and they won all three trophies this year 🙂

Now this is one category I am not a fan of . The only hockey games I've ever played were the one on the Master System with that horrible sports ball controller and Blades of Steel on the NES at my friend's house. And I can remember that cheering whistling same sound effect that all those Sports Nintendo games had at the time. Same thing with the double dribble. LOL

I do not like Hockey (I know that is sacrilege for a Canadian to say), but I did play a lot of NHL 94 or 95 (can't remember which) on my friends Super Nintendo. It was fun. Icing was a real problem for me. 🤣 I have never touched a hockey, or any sports game for that matter, since. But oh man that is a gory game. Reminds me of a joke I heard once. "I went to a boxing match once and a hockey game broke out."
