During the spring, 39 sage-grouse were released in southern Alberta after being captured in Montana. The birds were then handed over to Alberta wildlife biologists for release in the Manyberries area. This joint effort was carried out by Alberta Environment and Parks and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. In this video interview, Joel Nicholson, Senior Wildlife Biologist at Alberta Environment & Protected Areas, discusses the success of the release and the long-term plans for this wildlife conservation program.
