In her award-winning novel “I Will Die In A Foreign Land”, author Kalani Pickhart offers an opportunity to connect with the human aspect of the conflict. The novel, winner of the 2022 New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award, lets readers experience the complex, and often intensely personal, circumstances leading up to the conflict through the stories of its main characters.

The subconscious -- more accurately termed the Potentiator of Mind -- gives all meaning to everything experienced. People highly hypnotizable (12% of population) basically are hallucinating all the time. Anything that is suggested is experienced by them. Yet, everything in life suggests something to you. The meaning it has to you is generated internally. You need not consciously construct meaning; this is province of theoreticians. The brain doesn't know whether the source of a stimulus is "external" or internal. They are the same to the subconscious. The same people who like to read and also to volunteer and the other things you listed have this in common. They have more unmediated access to the meaning mechanism of the mind.

It's so funny to hear, that USA is a democratic country right now and Ukraine wants to become one. The only thing Ukraine and it's people want is to have high paychecks as Europeans and Americans do.

Unsubscribed. If I wanted pro-Ukrainian (or any contemporary combatant) war propaganda I would watch MSNBC.

Sorry to hear that, but her talk isn't about the current war in Ukraine. Her book and presentation are about the Euromaidan protests and the subsequent invasion by Russia 10 years ago.
