We have a bar like that here. You get offered more booze no matter how shitfaced you are. Probably not in either their or the customer's favor. And the bartenders are human and are supposed to have some sense of judgement. xD
Who would have thought that a non-human character saying the simple phrase "YOU WANT SOME MORE" in a single tiny little scene you never see again would be so memorable? This movie really is a masterpiece. That moment's right up there with GIMME THE CASH.
this movie is full of great little bit parts like this. I like how the father is talking with the robot bartender like Leelu is a difficult love interest, and drinking whiskey suds too.
Everytime I see a scene from the 5th Element I can't help to think how much better than Valerian is actually is. I was made with lots of originality and sarcasm. The bet was bold and Besson took it. With Valerian he went so much more mainstream-safe
@@vonfaustien3957 Even if they had been good, the movie would still have been a garbled mess of CGI slurry. Proper acting talent wouldn’t have saved it.
01:29 Love how his pic doesn't even look like him. So much funny and great detail in this movie. I'm just blown away by the design and aesthetic of the movie. The styles of how fashion, and buildings, and services are all look different, but are very much recognizable.
2:10 Ian's acting is phenomenal in this one scene. He has this brief calm when david comes back before making the split second realization he was supposed to get on the plane. "Oh, hello David..." *DAVID..?*
I didn't notice until now, but Vito is played by the same guy who played the killer Android in Alien. And now he's getting drunk in a dystopian future with robot serving as his bartender.
I mean I know that she’s made to be strong. 💪🏻 But she’s also so fragile, so human. You know what I mean? (Robot bartender shakes head) 😑 Do you want some more? 🥃🍷🍸🍹 Yeah.
say what you will but given its time of production i LOVE this movie it shows how it tried to be like Cyberpunk with flying cars / sci fi automated AI i bet all these actors is how they became famous from one amazing movie
what's funny is the way shit is going now, teenagers are gonna be looking like Sir Ian Holm in 300 years from all the stress of living in this modern world
......."She's so fragile, so human. You know what I mean?" *Robot bartender shakes head* "Do-youwantsomemore?" *Cornelius acquiesces* *Bartender squirts the shittiest amount I have ever seen into the glass* There was no point in him offering anymore given he squirted so little hahahah!
I bet you that in the future, that dismal amount of alcohol will cost you about $10 a pop. Bars are only getting more and more expensive. Just one of the many reasons I never go out "on the town" these days, haha.
This being in a futuristic/dystopian universe, we don’t know that this is alcohol as we regularly know it. It could be some kind of synthetic beverage that has a different effect, or is stronger than today’s alcohol, and is meant only for light sipping. Maybe it’s liquid marijuana or ecstasy...
The flight stuartist taking the IDS has always been so beautiful to me even as tall as she is she is probably the most beautiful woman I've ever seen even with her fake hair those eyes and your voice just damn
I was laughing at the robot and the multi-pass thing in the theatre when I saw this. I don't think anyone else was laughing, but I thought it was funny. What a quirky movie but I love the special effects and the story. I still was a little confused on what exactly Leeloo was. I guess the perfect weapon of love? Wasn't that the fifth element...love? Kind of like Captain Planet with the 5th power being heart? lol
basically. the actual fifth element in the lore of the movie is the light of good. love, compassion, joy, hope, etc. all that it entails. Korben's love for Leeloo is what powered the "element" aspect of her, just like David blowing on the wind stone and the sweat on the water stone, so on and so forth. and if people weren't laughing at the multipass scene and the robot bartender, they have no pulse.
JSwanKilowJ That makes sense. The emotion of compassion/love or even the idea of being human as the mental or psychological element versus the other 4 being physical elements. It’s like the Spice Girls Holler vid, where they were the elements in the pyramid and together their friendship created the last element.
One thing I always liked about this movie is that they didn't kill all the sides characters like David. Modern movies love killing characters like that.
