A's reverse boycott: Spend a day with die hard fans rallying to keep their team in Oakland

In a protest that garnered national attention, thousands of fans in green T-shirts bearing the word "SELL" packed the Coliseum, chanting "Sell the team!" calling on A's owner John Fisher to sell the MLB franchise instead of moving it to Las Vegas. We spent the day with them, to experience what some called history in the making: a rowdy and passionate uprising of the team's most devoted fans.

It was so crowded there, not just the Oakland A’s boycott game at the Coliseum, but right across 100 feet away at Oakland Arena, there was a TWICE (K-Pop girl group) concert happening right at the same time.

I had a stop over in Las Vegas last week. Local TV news channel was playing by the gate and the story was about all of the preparations the city council had done to approve widening of streets and parking for the new A's stadium. Map showed locations of their three team's stadiums: Knights, Raiders, and A's. It is a done deal. But at least Alameda County residents won't be stuck with payments for a sports team like we still are with the Raiders.
