The reason why Harry liked Ginny in the books is cuz almost everyone at school liked her. She's more like Fred and George. She supposed to act like the youngest sister of 6 brothers (especially ones who do pranks). She's also an amazing Quidditch player and is extremely smart in class (close to Hermione). Harry is so turned on by her tomboyish and outgoing personality. In the movie she's just...stiff...bland and boring. Which is funny because Bonnie Wright's personality is relatively close to Ginny.
It's still a bland relationship in the books tbh. Cause she had a crush on him for years and he clearly saw her as a little sister, basically told her that to her face even in book 2, and the first time he really thinks to himself about being attracted to her is when she was on a date with someone else. And personal pet peeve of mine, I hate that trope. When a character has no reason to not acknowledge their feelings until they just get jealous. It doesn't feel like love to me it feels like when a child has a toy they don't want to play with until another kid wants to use it to, suddenly its theirs and no one else can have it. 7 books. Joane had 7 books to built the Ginny and Harry romance and she does not even mention Harry's feeling until almost halfway through the 6th. That's not build up. That's wack.
@@LangkeeLongkeeto be fair though, since it’s not heavy on romance in that way, Jk R made it so that Harry legit did not like Ginny in that way, hence no prior build up. He liked another girl first. I believe he notices Ginny more than usual throughout the whole 6th book, I could be wrong tho lol. She is definitely better in the books. A cool girl who managed to build a life away from just pining for Harry like a marry sue.
@@Icyyddoll I understand that entirely. I'm saying it is still poorly done. Ron and Hermoine didn't have overly explicit build up but their build up was more realistic too. Where you could totally buy them building feelings and maybe not even noticing it themselves, especially since neither of them say other wise. And also, actual clear seeds of their romance were sown earlier.. Harry explicity did not like Ginny. And suddenly likes her when she finally moves on. And your final assessment of Ginnt isn't exactly accurate because just as I said, when she finally started doing that she ended right back with Harry cause he decided he wanted her then. Is she better in the books? Yes. Is she still a fully actualised and independent character who is treated with respect outside of her connection to Harry? No not so much. Cause you can argue all that fleshing out was just for Harry to start pining for her. JK R doesn't exactly write the most fleshed out female characters tbh for someone who claims to be a feminist. Hermoine, Luna, Molly and Mcgonagal are like the best female characters in the series. Edit: idk how I could forget to mention Luna, but a lot of her female characters are literally misogynistic stereotypes and stuff.
@@LangkeeLongkee I mean she dated Michael in the 5th book and Harry still felt no attraction to her. It was only after he spent so much time with her at the burrow summer before 6th year that he started to like her.
By the way at 1:25:25 when she's asking when did Voldemort get this "extra personality" from? 😂 because she said Tom didn't seem that way when he was at Hogwarts 😖 but actually what she didn't understand was that Tom Riddle was ALWAYS insane 😂 even when he was a kid it was implied that he was a psychopath (he was literally born psychotic and crazy) 🤭 so when he's acting all polite and calm that's just a fake act and he was hiding his true dark evil personality 💀 that's why the teacher Slughorn said, _"He was a quiet, albeit brilliant boy committed to becoming a first-rate wizard ... If a monster existed it was_ *buried* _deep within."_
That's a whole load of bologna. That's never mentioned in the books as being the direct reason, he was conceived under those circumstances but that doesn't mean that's the reason he was unable to feel love
A couple years ago my friend introduced me to the Harry Potter movies during a sleepover. We stayed up all night but didn’t finish them yet on the day I was supposed to go home, so she said “call your mom and tell her you’re staying another day, we need to finish these movies”💀💀
I will say Ron is done heavily dirty in the movies. Like hermione was treated like a goddess in the films and Ron like a trash bag but that’s not exactly the case in the books.
The director of the movies was a HUGE Hermoine fan, and actually went on record saying he preferred Harry and Hermoine as a ship so he very intentionally nerfed Ron to kinda fanfic the movies. Ron is like my second favourite character after Luna. He sucks for that FR.
@@sturniolosfann it is though lol. And they never said they hated the movies they said the effed up Ron which is TRUE. People are allowed to criticise things, including things they like. I like the movies. But it also bothers me that they stole Ron's moments.
I hate that in the movies they didn't put the care Harry had towards his wand. It was so special that he used the Elder Wand to fix his, not just throwed it in the lake.
Dumbledore isn't putting on a show. When he says, "please," he's begging Snape to kill him, as he is already dying. He and Snape made an agreement that Snape would kill Dumbledore.
So glad you feel the same as I do about Harry/Ginny bc even tho I didn’t really like it in the books, I actively cringe at them in the movies 😭 the chemistry just is not there Also you quoting word for word Cedric’s dad crying over his dead body is so funny and unserious 😭😭
Also, to answer your "Harry being a Horcrux" question: Voldemort doesn't know he made Harry into a Horcrux, he believes he has 7 Horcruxes, but actually with Harry, he has 8. If Voldemort knew Harry was a Horcrux, he probably wouldn't have been so keen to kill him and weaken himself in the process, as you mentioned. Edit: There are technically 7 Horcruxes including Harry, but I was including Voldemort in my calculations because he meant to split his soul in 6 plus the soul still inside himself. But then he unintentionally made Harry the 7th. So technically there are 7 Horcruxes, not 8.
@@mariakara2419 Right, my bad. I think in my brain I always include Voldemort in that, because he wanted his souls to be split in 7, so 6 things and himself, but then he unintentionally made Harry one so then that’s 8. Confused myself lol.
I think that Moody was described as kind of crazy. Like he was always paranoid and some found his behavior insane, hence the nickname Mad Eye Moody. But I haven't read the books in a while so I don't remember.
Also to answer your question about Moody/Crouch: this isn't ever explicitly spelled out but how I interpreted it, especially in the books, is that Crouch was doing a pretty good job of emulating Moody's personality. He had to be pretty decent at it because Moody was a close friend of Dumbledore's and would've seen through the act much earlier. Crouch also hid for a while his true allegiances, so we can interpret that he's a pretty good actor. The only major flaw with it I see is that every other case of Polyjuice potion, it just changes your appearance, not your voice. But his voice is CLEARLY different from Crouch's. Think the 2nd movie scene with Malfoy and when Hermione uses polyjuice as Bellatrix, their "real" voices are still uses. My backstory bet is that Moody was a common prison guard for Crouch, so he had years to pick up on his mannerisms and eventually attacked him/switched places. In terms of personality, his only main giveaways are him doing the Unforgivable curses in the classroom and is clearly enjoying torturing that spider WAY too much.
about the polyjuice voice - in the books the potion DOES change the voice i believe, but i guess they chose not to in the first movie. but when it got to goblet of fire where the fact it does change the voice is a big factor that helps crouch, they had to incorporate it since it was more of a plot point. i've just googled it too and it says polyjuice potion if made correct can change the voice, so the movie people could've claimed if they wanted that hermione's potion although good wasn't perfect the first time round so didn't change the voice unlike crouch's potions. but then you're right, it's emma's voice for bellatrix at the end too so they probably couldn't argue any sense for hermione not getting it perfect again 😂
@@veeiris ooooh that makes sense! Hermione was good at potions but remember she wasn’t a potions master or very inventive with potions. You could argue a potions master on the level of Snape could make one specialized enough to also change the voice.
I heard the scene where Harry is screaming is muted because the actor Daniel had lost someone and really screamed in that scene and it was heartbreaking to hear
I really want justice for Bem/the actor because the way he ate that transitional commentary was needed in the rest of the films haha. Also I hate how they made movie Ginny versus book Ginny- book Ginny was dope. Also, Hagrid ain't just big- he's a half giant, which is why he faces so much discrimination. And I do think a movie from Tom's perspective could actually be dope- like with a Maleficent spin.
As someone who read the books first, people always say Harry and Ginny were cuter in the books. They're liars. The only point I can see to that is, being books you're more in Harry's head and their kiss was less bad in the books. But Harry's feelings still came out of no where, and jsut felt really weird and possessive in the books too.
Lmao thank you for validating me on this! Because I always felt like the depiction of Harry and Ginny’s sudden chemistry in the movies wasn’t super far off from the way it was in the books; the only difference being that she had ✨slightly✨ more of a personality/fleshing out in the books.
@@TheKLCgirl101 Yes, THANK Y'ALLL! I've been saying this since I've read the books and the movies. Them having chemistry comes out of no where. I honestly thought it would make more sense if Ginny ended up with Neville in the books and movies. Like they were a great team in the Deathly Hallows book keeping Dumbledore's Army afloat together. And they have similar struggles being not brave in the beginning as Gryffindor's, and gradually becoming super brave despite being very timid and fearful in the beginning.
I always said the same. I was a Harry-Hermione shipper at the start, then a Harry-Luna shipper. I basically shipped him with everyone BUT Ginny haha It was totally out of nowhere, and one of the weakest plot elements in the series. Book Ginny is 100x better than Film Ginny, but Harry-Ginny? Not so much!
@@gianellab.4953 I'm a Harry x Hermione shipper, and I thought that even Harry x Luna would've made more sense. I've always felt Hermione and Luna understood Harry more, and could relate to each other more. But yeah book Ginny was way better than movie Ginny. However, even in the movies Ginny comes off as a sweetheart that would work better with Neville rather than Harry.
I CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I NEEDED THIS TODAY! OMG THANK YOUUU I've been having a not so good day today, and been so stressed and anxious. This is literally the perfect timing. I love all your videos, but you really saved me with this one, and made me feel a lot better❤❤❤
i think its sad that harry went to the ministry because he feared Serious was in trouble but in going there brought Serious leading to his death, harry caused what he feared
The thing why everyone's hair was so long in the fourth movie was because the director changed !! theres an interview where daniel says that usually they'd grow their hair during the summer and when they'd go back to shooting it'd be cut off for the movie, but for the 4th one the new director changed and saw all the boys' hair n was like "yup we're set up!!" lmao n so the hair can look bit lion mane in the movie LMAOOO
Thank you for taking the time to do this!!!! I really enjoyed this, even with the intermittent naps XD Really felt like having a movie marathon with a friend
I think as far as the barty/moody question, I feel like he did act like that because none of the staff who actually knew him noticed anything was off. Dumbledore didn't realize it wasn't moody until he took harry away from the tournament after it was over
Girl, I LOVE you and your reactions..But as soon as you said you didn’t read the books I already knew I would have to pause and take a deep breath every five minutes watching 😭😭😭
always love your commentary 😊 to answer your question as to why voldemort only made seven horcruxes and not fifteen is because the number seven is actually a spiritual number signifying completion (i.e. seven days of the week). three is also a number of completion but more so meaning spiritual (i.e. the holy trinity: Father, Son and Spirit)
I'm so happy you pointed out Bem always saying like the scary lines to scare to kids in the second movie, its so funny, I know for a fact the actor was enjoying his lines.
As much as I loved this series as a child, they did not sell Ginny in the movies how they did in the books and I think that’s why a lot of people didn’t feel that spark. I personally wanted these ships: Harry and Cho(them bonding after Cedric’s passing), Ron and Parvati(they looked really cute together IMO❤) Ginny and Neville(really felt this would have been a more believable couple and I personally liked each of their personalities and they would have made a good match). and the ultimate forbidden ship Hermione and Draco… in no way do I condone how Draco treated her throughout the series as they were trying to push that narrative of the classes of wizards like half bloods and pure bloods but part of me felt Draco’s character arc could have been changed earlier in the series. Like him coming to the realization that there was one common enemy and that was Voldemort. I always think about what would have happened if he left his family and switched sides.
Everyone hating on Harry every year or 2 always annoyed me. First was in Chamber of Secrets, then Goblet of Fire, lastly it was Order of the Phoenix, like people you've talked smack about him so many times, find other gossip
Lemme tell you most of the people who ship Ginny and Harry are the people who read the books cuz in the books she's way less awkward and more confident. Also R.I.P to Michael Gombon, he really made the character Dumbledore his own.
I see the symbolism of the deathly hallows as the cloak of invisibility = to accept death as a part of life. the resurrection stone = to refuse to accept death and the search for immortality. the elder wand = to take control over death and become the Grimm reaper.
Everytime I rewatch this, I try to picture Voldemort biting the unicorn and quirrel is just backs up in the air waiting for voldemort to finish his meal. The parody play was right about that one.
I think Rupert or Daniel said that every movie they'd get them to grow their hair out so it could be cut/styled at the beginning of filming but the (director?) saw their hair and was like yeah lets go with this! And that's why most of the guys have long hair in this one 😂 Also there's a delted scene at the dramatic school entrance bit in gof where Hogwarts sing a song as their thing/talent hehe
Girl like you said - it would be so nice having the books on the Marauders era. Welllll if you'd like there is a whole ass three books worth of fanfiction on their school years. and it's mostly canon. It's written in Remus' perspective, it also has shipping lol. But honestly it's even better than the original books! Called All the Young Dudes!
