That is true love indeed. I, too, wish I could turn back time and have my Shih Tzus back with me. I think of them each and every day, and I cherish the memories. They brought so much happiness to my life.
This made me tear up 🥲 My puppies are only 3 and 1, and I already get tears when I think about the future, in 15 years or so. It really will feel like losing one of my children when they go. My kids are older now and off starting their own lives, and my dogs really have filled that "empty-nest" feeling more than I ever imagined possible. Our Golden was always hot. We had a baby pool for him, or else he'd never have made it through the summer. Then, when he came inside, he'd lay on the ac vent. Lol. We live in Wisconsin, so he lived for the snow and cold weather. He'd roll in fresh snow and make doggy snow angels. Stick his whole face in a snow pile. Lol. Such a great breed. Miss him. You are so right, I sometimes think why do they have a shorter life span than we do. The top age is twenty and that’s rare. I think around 13 to 15. I had a cat for 14 years before he passed away, it broke my heart when he left to go to where I know God has a place for them. Plus I know I will see him again because I feel it in my heart. Why can’t animals live as long as we can. 😊❤

Makes me get teary eyed. I had a dog who liked do a similar thing when it snowed. He was already a senior when we inherited him when my uncle passed. No one else wanted Arnie so I took him even though I was probably poorest in my family. Anyway he lived with us for five more years before he passed and yeah he loved the snow.
Just thinking about Arnie, sitting there, starring at the snow as it falls..I didn't know Arnie but he sounds like a beautiful dog and am happy that someone took him in and didn't abandon him after his owner passed. Thank you for that!
@@emily7213 to most he probably wasn't he prettiest to look at. He was a 12 year old Lhasa Apso when we got him with a snaggle tooth and had cherry eye all the time. Sometimes he had a really bad attitude too haha, which made us love him even more. Lhasa's are not really big dogs, but he thought he was and he had this grumpy old man attitude that made him get really mad if you told him no about something he wanted. My uncle didn't feed him dog food so he expected scrabbled or mashed up boiled eggs with a little butter mix in it for breakfast...and his water absolutely had to be ice water. If you set just a bowl of water down for him he'd set there growling till you put ice in it. I could go on and on about his antics. He's been gone since Nov 2009 and right now I'm teary eyed typing this. Sorry it's so long
One of the cruelest things in life......our beautiful doggos are only with us for a short time. Before you know it, that bouncing puppy is a sedate senior with grey around their face and stiffness in their joints. Make the most of every day with them. ❤
This is my first dog and he now can't go on long walks because of arthritis. I got a low seated buggy/cart to extend his walks but he constantly wants to get out and walk it's heartbreaking. I guess I should just be happy that he's living a long happy life but I still get teary eyed thinking it's almost over.
Dogs are proof God loves us. We certainly don’t deserve dogs. A lifetime of unconditional love, comfort, companionship and smiles and laughter from countless shared “Special Dog Goofiness”. Grief is the other side of love. The more we love the more we grieve. Grief is the painful price we pay for the honor of sharing our life and love with one of God’s greatest creations. At first It hurts, too much, appears unbearable. But weeks and months pass your tearful memories start to become fond joyous memories full of love, smiles and laughter. @@littleripper312 I’m so sorry. I have a 15 yr old pup who’s also slowed down but still hikes with me. I give him fish oil and green lipped mussel powder daily and they’ve helped a lot for his joints.

My French Bulldog is getting up there now at 11 years old and he’s gone deaf and starting to slow down a little bit-He’s been there for some of the most difficult years of my life (like when my dad, ex-girlfriend, and a best friend from college all passed away in the same year).. No idea how I’ll find it in me to get on without him😭

Yes! I have one now that is 13 1/2 years, and we learned a month ago she has cancer. In that month, she weakened a lot. But, she still looks at us with such love. I am going to spoil her as much as I can.

This video hit hard. My pups will be 12 and 3 this year. I dread the day God calls them home. I cry and get anxieties just thinking about it. I’m going through the roughest time in my life and they are the only ones beside God who give unconditionally love. They are my life. I’m so grateful for every second with them. Wow almost a year ago that I commented. I wish more ppl would share about their babies in this thread. I love hearing the stores. Joey (that I had mentioned in my comment) is now 18! She’s slowing down. Hips aren’t that great. She’s very vocal and demanding. She will only go outside now if the weather is warm. But when the weather is amazing (SoCal) you will find her in the backyard all day. And she still loves her humans. My daughter is her favorite. ❤️
It's the same with every pet. It's like a relationship between parent and child. Parents will always look at u as a child even when ur old. Thts just the way it is. Time goes by so fast.
ABSOLUTELY! My pup went from "tiny pup" to "150 pound pup In NO time! I never realized just how huge he got! He was always that 'tiny pup' in my eyes (and heart !!) [never could really understand people's reactions! He was my pup! )😅 THIS was meant lightheartedly! Of Course he was trained, and had a healthy, respectful disposition, and I WAS fully aware of his size (even when HE wasn't 😅)

They may grow physically, but they remain a puppy all their lives. At least that was how it was for my retriever. Such beautiful, intelligent, loyal friends. Sadly they are taken alot sooner than we are ready for!!!!❤😊

And you never know what happens in the future. A little over half a year ago me and my girlfriend adopted two kitten, a male and a female. Both were siblings and they were about 4 months old. The male was the first born and was above average considering his size and strength and we were told, that they are completely healthy. He was also not really shy when we got them and he was really interested. However his sister was really really shy and felt only secure when she was with her brother. That's why i withnessed my attention almost completely to her, i was really patient with her though and it did pay off. My girlfriend spent more time with the male though, simply because she loved that he was so open, however she loved both of them equaly. About two months ago it was time to get them castrated, the female was first and everything was fine. Two weeks later it was the males turn, and unfortunatly our cute strong little tiger didn't make it through the operation. We were told that this was a really rare case, and that this would happen in 1 out of 10.000 cases.... So what i really try to say ist that you never know.... Treat each other always like it's your last day. I wish i would have spent more time with him, not that I did'nt, but i could have way more, but how would I know, he was so strong.
I actually never believed spirits , but my dog passed away she meant the world to me I had no one and no friends I was bullied a lot after someone ran over her on purpose to hurt me to kill her I would talk to myself alot wishing she’s still here, and actually I saw her appear but blurry transparent, she walked over to me and laid down next to my foot and vanished, I see her from now and then near me appear and vanish so I know she’s still with me, I’m positive you will see your furry friend again since mine is reassuring me so far ❤

That's nearly 100 if you compare to human age. Now imagine your dear ones suffering so much due to old age and diseases.... although you love them..... Nature has a definite life span for every species, and that is really perfect and suitable for them. If we compare with human's life span then of course we will be sad and emotional because we will think that they have left us too early.

I had my sweet, devoted, beloved Lhasa Apsa for 11 years. He declined rapidly in 2 weeks necessitating euthanasia 8 days ago. I grieve & agonize was it the right decision to do do😢. His precious loving attentive ways will never leave my heart & mind. He was innocent, full of life, joy & gratefulness.❤❤
Our Golden is 15 and our great Pyrenees is 12. We treasure every day we have them because at this age something could happen to them anytime. They are both so gentle and sweet. Seems like yesterday they were little puppy furballs ❤.

I appreciate now more than ever. My puppies have of save my life. I mean literally. I’m here today because of them. They’ve taught me so much. How to live just one more day to be here for them to love them to care for them because I’m responsible for them. But again imagine being without them.
The unconditional love that our dogs have for us is something only a dog owner can attest to. It is a special and unique relationship we are blessed to have... I miss my boy, Casey like he left yesterday, but it's been a year. He not only was my best friend for nearly 14 years, but he saved me, my body and soul. I am so grateful...
